In this final installment of our series on Arc’teryx LEAF’s softshell tech, we are giving one lucky reader a chance to win a set of Drac Jacket and Pant manufactured from Burly Double Weave.
The Drac Jacket is a welcome addition to the LEAF line. It features pit zips and two bicep pockets with Velcro fields for IFF as well as two zippered hand warmer pockets mounted low on the jacket in the traditional fashion. Additionally, the cuffs incorporate die-cut laminated Velcro adjusters.
Burly Double Weave is made for cold weather so you’re getting wind and water resistance along with a generous 4-way stretch. The Drac jacket combines combat jacket styling with a generous cut. The same can be said of the pant. If you’re on the edge between sizes, go down rather than up.
The Drac Pant features an interesting combination of styling and features. It’s as if the Combat Pant and Sphinx Pant had a baby. All of the features of the Sphinx with the stretchy goodness of Burly Double Weave.
You get:
-Two slash hand pockets
-Two rear pockets with angled access
-Two tool pockets with Cordura reinforcement
-Two calf pockets with flaps
-Two cargo pockets with flaps that fit standard rifle magazines and are easy to access from a seated position
-Built-in gaiters
-Ingenious webbing covered kneepad pockets with access points for straps
Both the Drac Jacket and Pant are available in Crocodile as well as Wolf sizes Small – XXLarge.

Learned about leaf after they left leo adventures.
Learned about leaf from soldier systems
I learned about Leaf right here on Soldier Systems, when, I can’t remember, probably when they first struck out on their own. Don’t own any of their products, but am interested in a few and more than likely buy some once funds become available.
I first learned about Arc’teryx via a climbing harness I bought years ago. I was impressed with the quality. I first heard about LEAF on Soldier Systems Daily in the past year.
I learned about LEAF about 1 year ago, after seeing some fellow students at Fort Bragg wearing the kneecaps.
First heard about LEAF a couple months ago when I started following Soldier Systems
I learned about the LEAF program via Lightfighter.net and really became interested once I was able to see (and use) Arctyerx products first hand in the form of a slightly used THeta jacket I bought in what appears to be Croc. Once I saw the wieght, build quality, and attention to detail I was hooked and have been a loyal Dead Bird follower since then and frequently recommend them to my buddies are are heading to AFG. You pay for what you get when it comes to awesome sauce gear.
I learned about the Arcteryx program about 3 years ago from a friend in the Army who is issued a lot of their gear. I now own enough Arcteryx gear that cost about as much as a small used car. As a cop who works outdoors a lot, their gear is worth every penny for its lifesaving capabilities.
I first heard about the LEAF program about 3 years ago for a co-worker. The Alpha Jacket and Echo pack are quality pieces of kit.
Heard about it on soldier systems
Learned about the program from a local tactical store in Vancouver last year. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Arc’teryx products in general over the years.
Learned about the program a few years ago from a friend who is an Exum Guide and does a lot of mountain training for various units.
I learned about LEAF while searching for a Multicam softshell jacket a few years ago, unfortunately I wasn’t on active duty at the time so Arc’teryx was out of my price range. Now a days, those Merino base layers are a godsend under a flighsuit in 95-110*F cockpits
I first learned about Arc’teryx LEAF 3 years ago. Over the last couple years i’ve been slowly collecting a pretty sizeable wardrobe. To include Alpha jacket and Pants, Naga hoodie, Bora 35. The list goes on. Some issued, mostly purchased out of my own pocket. Needless to say i’m a loyal customer. I gladly pay the extra money for the extra quality. Keep up the good work, glad to see a Canadian company leading the field. Cheers
Back in 2008 I learned about LEAF after finding out the origin of the ILBE system while in the Marine Corps. When looking at what else Arc’teryx did for the military I came upon LEAF.
heard about Leaf looking around for gear on the internets, read good reviews about it from numerous sources. great equipment, very happy with all my purchases.
I first saw the leaf line at SHOT in 2010, but think I heard about it here first.
Not sure where I first heard about Arc’teryx LEAF, but I guess it probably would be on this site. We issue Vertx pants at work, and I bought a Vertx soft shell jacket that I like so much it is my daily jacket when I’m not in a suit.
Read about it on here in the last several months.
I learned about life when I was in Afghanistan. One of the guys in my team bought a jacket and let me use it a few times on patrol. Loved everything about that jacket. Would get my own if money wasnt so damn tight these days =-/
LEAF.. autocorrect wins again
I learned about Arc’teryx LEAF about a year ago, I read an article about it being used in the mountains with for a long distance shoot competition.
First learned about LEAF a couple years ago from a co-worker while doing some training at the range just prior to going overseas.
I learned about Arc’teryx LEAF from the lightfighter forums. I already knew about the civilian line through skiing and climbing but needed something burlier and in the right colors.
Thanks to everyone who entered.
