Sneak Peek – Arc’teryx Luggage

Before I headed over to the Blade Show I stopped by Über Group. They are an Atlata-based rep group for several outdoor brands which includes Arc’teryx. Having recently returned from the Spring sales meeting their space had just transformed, showcasing the Spring 2013 collection. One thing immediately caught my eye, luggage. Offered in 3 sizes, Ci (70l), ICO (50l) and CO (40l), the Covert series is manufactured from a combination of 500D Cordura and Burly double weave.

These are duffel-style bags with stowable shoulder straps for backpack carry. You may notice a green and a black variant. The actual color names are Utility Green and Carbon Copy. The Utility Green is more green than Crocodile.

One of the coolest things about the Covert luggage series is the interior. It’s a light color in order to see what’s inside, but it also incorporates the iconic Arc’teryx logo.

Interesting how unicode replaces the umlauted U with more complicated characters. You could always spell it Ueber Group if you wanted to make it more legible 😛

On a more relevant note: want. I want this luggage and I’m not even sure why.

It did it again? Spell correct places the uhmlaut but WordPress can’t parse it.

Oh snap, how am I going to explain the sudden appearance of this in my house?

Nothing I’ve ever bought from Arc’teryx has been cheap. Coincidentally none of it has fallen apart as I’ve abused it, either.

One thing that I’m still surprised by is the durability of the Dirty Bird’s more civilian offerings. I’m pretty tough on my Blade 30, but the thing has yet to show signs of slowing down.
