ADS Inc displayed their US4CES family of camouflage patterns at AUSA. It was great to be able to see all three patterns along with accessories in the OCIE/PPE pattern. We secured a set of caps as a giveaway to our readers.
To enter for your chance to win the set of caps featuring US4CES Arid, Transitional and Woodland patterns (the prize does not include the ITAR restricted US4CES placards, just the caps) state in the comments section of this post on SSD your favorite camouflage pattern. Be sure to use a valid email address as we will use it to randomly select the winner at 2359 ZULU (GMT) on 4 November 2012. One entry per person. Void where prohibited.

Developed in concert with HyperStealth Biotechnology Corp‘s Guy Cramer, US4CES is considered a Digital Textured Pattern which utilizes shape and color to give the illusion of 3-dimensional shapes.

I also think pencott Badlands is my favorite. Some camos are too green, some too tan. But the Badlands has a little of both and I have seen in the woods color combos like it so it would blend in very well.
US4CES Transitional camouflage is pretty awesome looking. I have never seen this one before
Even if it is not the most effective I still like British DPM, especially for smocks.
Multicam still!
Call me nostalgic but I like the old African Lizard. Have some EOTAC in that Pattern and love them.
Bophuthatswana Grasslands – the best of Tigerstripe, DPM and Rhodesian.
If it could be done in a US4CES style then you’d have a winner.
Multicam for functionality, Woodland for nostalgia.
I am old school but that Transitional would look great on my graying head!
I would have to go back to the 6-color desert uniforms, aka, “chocolate chips”.
Mothwing Canyon Mimicry
ATACS foliage.
Multcam, due to it’s versatility. However, I do like the looks of Endor Camo/ATACS-FG.
Multicam.
Pencott greenzone is truly amazing effective.
For sh*ts ‘n giggles: Hyperstealth Romeo-9 pattern, but only with a pina colada..
AOR2
My favorite camo as of now is Crye’s Multicam, but I’m really liking this pattern. I hope the Army chooses it.
I still like multicam. Has crye created developed a woodland and desert colorways for thier pattern. It seams logical to make the current multicam the transitional pattern and change the coloration to meet woodland and desert needs. Then you would not need to purchase all new gear. Budgets are getting tight.
My pick is the new MAPA being tested by the Polish Army. Just think it looks smooth.
I think the US4CES woodland and transitional are my favorites.
I was surprised at how well the British MTP worked in a multitudes of environments, I think its the fact its more green and less tan then Multicam
Multicam is my favorite go to camo that’s working great in many parts of the US… But, US4CES transition looks great! The whole concept of US4CES is exactly what’s been needed for our troops.
I’m beginning to fall for Krypyek’s Highlander pattern.
Transitional! However, no army should be finite on their camouflage pattern. It should look at the operational environment in which they will be sending soldiers into and and adjust to the appropriate color scheme. Regardless of unit size it is a small price to pay that could save a soldiers life.
US4CES, because it won already
Nothing has been announced yet
My fave camo pattern is CADPAT—Canadian Disruptive Pattern!
I grew up with Woodland, always wanted tiger stripes, but have to say that I’m a sucker for Australian bunny ears.
I’m a big fan of the Multicam right now. I also like the USMC Digital woodland though.
I just wish the DOD would decide on a couple different patterns per enviro situation and be done with it. Too much money wasted by each branch on camo and uniform development. Especially when the Army and AF camo is atrocious.
MTP: taking the best bits of multicam’s technology and adding a traditional British DPM twist.
Not according to our update board
Well, your update board is wrong. I bet it has a half-assed 2-page power point presentation posted there telling you that it was selected. Or, you’ve received it as an attachment in an email. That thing is like the herpes, it just won’t go away. And, it’s wrong. The Army is still in testing.
Want to know why its a fake? When have you ever seen a 2-slide power point presentation?
Transitional
Tadpoles tigerstrip
Kryptek LEAF patterns, not only seems effective, but it is already available and in the foreseeable future we will find packs, LBVs, plate-carriers and pouches from some of the “coolest brands” that are already making it for the “no limit checks” guys.
My favorite camo pattern is the Lupus pattern by Orion Design Group. I can’t wait to get my hands on some.
Nobody else has mentioned it yet, but that new Wolf Grey from Arc’teryx will definitely be my color of choice for the zombie apocalypse! Solids can be camo too!
Multicam has been my favorite since it debuted. The Transitional US4CES appears to have the similar (and appealing) colorway.
Multicam, because I am a gearwhore.
Dot44 😉
A-TACS AU
I still think the three-color desert is the best for Iraq and Africa.
I like multicam, British DPM and Vietnam Tigerstripe. US4CES may turn out to be the best current pattern if it passes all the tests.
I like the old green-dominant ERDL pattern camouflage. The Vietnam-era tropical uniform in ERDL was very practical and ahead of its time.
WW2 Denison smock camo
Of the three choices I really like the arid and woodland variants for one particular reason, they resemble what I consider to be the best currently available patterns, AOR I NWU II (desert variant) and AOR II NWU III (woodland variant). The new patterns from ADS Inc. distance themselves from the previously mentioned patterns by using a broader pixelated theme which differs greatly from the busy looking scheme of the Navy counterpart. I think all three patterns will see some type of success whether it being a formal contract with the Army and possibly integration into other branches on a smaller scale and/or on the commercial market aimed towards the civilian population. Whatever the outcome is I think the collaboration between Guy Kramer and ADS Inc. has produced exactly what the Army needs at this point. With that being said I am anxious to see what Crye Precision’s submission will look like and whether it will build upon the positive sides of its famed Multicam or if they will unveil a completely new scheme.
US4CES Woodland
CADPAT-AR all the way!
Woodland, ftw up here in AK
Multicam because I’ve seen it work, but I’d love to test out US4CES and Pencott.
I like the US4CES Woodland pattern the best so far, I hope to be wearing it soon. Plus with the Deceptex/Ghostex technology that Guy Cramer/Hyperstealth developed I look forward to seeing a wide variety of patterns in the basic US4CES geometry to suit any needs of US Forces in the years to come.
Prior to US4CES it had been three color desert. I am hoping against all hope that the Army selects this pattern. Not only is it well thought out as far as pattern and color selection, but it will be a pattern that reflects pride in uniform appearance. I was a fan of multicam, but once it gets dirty and faded, it tends to turn all brown.
before i started seeing hyperstealth’s camo, i was diggin barracuda patterns.
