SIG SAUER - Never Settle

Gunfighter Moment – Larry Vickers

“My Gunfighter moment this week is real simple; support the NRA. I simply can’t say that enough – upgrade your membership, rejoin, recruit a new member, do something to get involved.

The NRA isn’t perfect but I can tell you from personal experience the only thing that gives the 2nd Amendment any meaning at all is the 4 million members of the National Rifle Association. I have traveled the globe in my firearms career and been exposed to the gun cultures of other countries; they all to a man wish they had something as powerful as the NRA. Every single time I hear the same comment.

Right now more than ever we need everyone who enjoys the firearms freedoms we have engaged in the fight. The anti gunners are using the Sandy Hook tragedy as the golden opportunity they have been waiting for to go all in on killing the 2nd Amendment . Remember they don’t want you to be able to own firearms – period! There is no compromising with extremists as they are not rational – therefore we have to fight them tooth and nail to preserve our freedoms. And that fight is now !!

Stay vigilant – stay engaged – stay in the fight !! And support the NRA !!”

I just want to add a brief comment to Larry Vicker’s message. You are going to hear discussions in the media and some political circles suggesting that the gun ban/grab initiative is loosing steam. This is what clinicians call a placebo. It is an attempt to lull you into a non-combative frame of mind.
The gun control movement is far from dead and when Larry says to you “stay in the fight and stay engaged” truer words have never been spoken. So do it, at your local and federal level.
All gun owners in America are deeply concerned about gun violence but we also know that 60% of that gun violence is directly attributable to gangs and gang related activity. That is the focus our government should have because it will yield measurable results.

    • Jon C says:

Well put Sal…they’re trying to lull gun owners into a false sense of security. Don’t fall for it!

    • Six8 says:

Well said. Idiots and trash shouldn’t have access to firearms. It’s the brain not the gun. Seeking the solution in the latter is a fundamentally flawed policy. I stand behind the 2nd Amendment but I’m also very much in favour of social/background/mental checks prior to purchase. Canada has its act together for that matter. And then again, why should everyone have a reason for needing guns? And please, spare me the ever old whining about possible tyrannic government (who is armed to the teeth with more heavy iron, fighter jets and uav’s than anybody else on the planet, so tough luck for all them “SHTF” folks out there). Only those who actually DO have something to protect from thugs need guns. 20 year olds who are out of jobs, high school drop outs and alike don’t need guns. Call me an elitist snob, but as an Independent it is where I stand in the debate. I support neither the president nor the gun lobby.

      • Kris says:

Funny how a buch if guys in a third wold nation have negated all of that “heavy iron” for the past decade with not much more then rifles, UXO and, a iron will to fight for what they believe in.

        • Six8 says:

TRUE! Point taken. But they did that with IED’s, mines, and RPG’s. The first can be engineered everywhere and by any person who knows what they’re doing. The latter two are not exactly items that are available to the US public. Things like Javelin, Spike and Predator AT weapons can only be obtained through government contracts. Anyway, the thought of the federal government turning it’s military against it’s own citizens is a joke. This is not 1861, times have changed and are much more complicated then back in those days. Guns should only be in the hands of the sane. Whether it be hand guns, assault rifles or heavy machine guns and 40mm automatic grenade launchers for all I care. Like I said before: it’s the brain not the gun. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Whether it’s college frat boys or high school drop outs. So thatswhy the US needs to take a look at Canadian background check policy. Don’t regulate the gun, regulate the gun owners.

I agree 100% percent Larry. On another note I tried to post in the TAC TV forum at M4carbine but it won’t let me post anywhere or PM, maybe they need to approve my account. I was going to post that I think your episode on the history of HK was fantastic and the best one yet! I would like to see more history, gunsmithing, guests, training tips, and of course shooting. Maybe you could do an episode dedicated to concealed carry with possibly Travis Haley as a guest that would be cool. I’ve watched all three of your tactical shows and I think they are the best shows on TV. Keep up the good work Larry!

Is he using an IO Cover?

  4. SShink says:

NRA = support Harry Reid and his goons.
GOA stands for our rights on the sole basis that we hold our liberty in our guns.

    • droneboy says:

Yep…but look on the bright side; NRA will probably “only” cave on private sales this time. That way they can save the evil black rifles for the next….

I was at 1911 operator class being taught by LAV this weekend and to hear him convey the issues got me to join the NRA. Every gun owner has to get invloved or things weill get ugly for us.
    Great class by LAV, BTW.
