Hog Saddle shared these new Carbon Fiber Bolt Cutters that weigh just 2.8 lbs with us that were developed by one of their buddies. The bolt cutters come in standard and short lengths, and cut through 3/8″ rebar easily.

    Huh, I never realized CF could be made rigid enough for such an application. CF is usually very strong but it still flexes a good bit (high end mountain bike frames for example). The wonders of modern engineering.

    I’ve used these cutters before and they really are 2.8 pounds. One of their demo models has logged over 1500 lock/rebar cuts.
