New, is the Armor Source Rail. First off, it’s lighter than existing rail systems (110 grams vs 165 grams) and is available in a wide variety of colors but they are having trouble molding plaid.
Another interesting feature is that the ASR is offered in sizes that are compatible with the full gamut of helmet sizes and can be attached via Velcro or Epoxy. Additionally, there is a recess in the rear of the rail to accommodate any bolts in the helmet.

So this will fit the MICH 2001? That’s pretty fantastic.
At least someone has taken up making rails for those of us that have XL & SM helmets.. Not too sure of security relying on Velcro.. Especially on helmets with textile coverings..
I tried to pry it off the Velcro they are using and it was hard to do….very hard. Remember, there are many grades of Velcro brand fastener. They also have an adhesive if needed. But, this means that you will need a new cover that doesn’t cover these rails.
How are they not being sued by Ops-Core for patent infringement?
Probably have some kind of licensing agreement would be my guess. Or they changed the design enough to navigate around the patent, that happens all too often.
Having read the patent, there’s not much wiggle room – they pretty much claim any device with a dovetail slot. The one loop-hole they may have left is method of attachment – they specifically mention fastening to the helmet with the retention hardware. Still – betcha they ain’t happy about it.
