Doomsday Castle Comes to NatGeo

Prepping continues to be all the rage and even better are reality series about preppers. It appears “Doomsday Preppers” has spawned its first spinoff.

At Outdoor Retailer I was checking out the ballroom when I ran across the Wise Foods booth. They sponsor the NatGeo series “Doomsday Preppers”. One of the more interesting episodes last season involved a man who had built a castle in the wilderness and was testing his progeny to determine who he would leave it to. Sounds like it has everything needed for a great reality series of its own; family conflict. And they’ve got it. Hopefully, they’ll share a trick or two. Coming August 13th.

Here we go. More wacko hillbillies. BTW you’re supposed to keep things on the “down low” for a reason. Now the whole f-ing country will know where you are at! Dumbasses for their 15 min of fame!

I’ve seen the preppers show on YouTube, to include the episode that had this family, and it seems to me they realize it’s a money making opportunity.

I imagine that if they do indeed buy into the prepper lifestyle it wouldn’t be a bad deal have to NatGEO pay you a large sum of money that you could invest in a real plan/gear/training…. because it didn’t seem that this family would have very good chances based on their episode in my opinion.

OK, add that Pararescueman who did the one-man missions reality show to see if he can take down the compound. Now add live ammo, and we have a show, folks.

Man I miss the days before every show on TV was a reality show. What a bunch of bollocks.

Absolute garbage. Crap like this and those pawn shows are the reason I don’t watch TV anymore. Pawn shows on the history channel… Ice road truckers… God I wanna puke.

Yeah, what the hell happend to NatGeo and Discovery last 10 years?

From educational they went to entertainment, now its not even entertaining anymore…

I did enjoy the PJ and EOD show for some episodes but the fake tention build-up was just too much, not to forget the constant conflicts between these professionals clearly set up by some lame TV-script.

I’m rather disappointed that Wise Food get’s as much airtime as they do. Their food is outrageously priced, has 118 times higher oxygen content than their competitors, has poor packaging, and will not last the advertised shelf life (due mainly to the high oxygen content and poor packaging.)

Hell, some of their large one year packages are over $3000 higher than comparable units that are found elsewhere. I guess in this case you really are paying for the brand name and the Nat Geo prestige 😛

Do they all live under highpower lines and eat paint chips?

I bet the folks from Duck Dynasty have a better chance of post-apocalyptic survival than these survivalist wannabes.

It’s moronic horseshit like this that lets me know dumping cable altogether was the right choice. The people who watch this kind of crap are even worse than the people starring in it. At least they realize that they are putting out drivel, and getting paid a lot to do it!

We use rabbit ears at my house. Gets the basic channels for news, special events, and the periodic network show that’s worth watching. Saves a ton of money and brain cells.

Amazing how all these reality show families always have hot daughters…

NGC seems to like Prepper shows but do they like Preppers? They seem to search out the craziest ones for the shows. I guess ot could be normal Preppers just don’t make for good TV and judging by what kind of show are on these day’s it could be crazy is the big seller. I hope they do better with the new show.
Now whats wrong with me, I like the Prepper shows.
