Gerber Propel Automatic Knives

Gerber has expanded their line of automatic knives to include the Propel series knives: the Propel Auto and the Propel Downrange Auto.

Propel

The Propel Auto sports a tanto-style 420 HC stainless steel blade with partial serration; a black oxide coating offers limited reflectivity and corrosion resistance. The grip uses a black G-10 composite handle and Gerber’s Assisted Opening 2.0 for seamless, one-handed opening. The plunge lock and safety switch fix the blade in place, open or closed. The pommel features a lanyard hole for utility.

Propel DR

The Downrange shares all the features of the Propel Auto, except it exchanges the black G-10 handle for tan and the 420 HC steel for an upgraded S30V steel blade. Both knives have a blade length of 3.5″ with an overall length of 8.52″ and a weight of 4.28 oz. The Propels also share a three-position adjustable clip that allows the user to customize the knife’s orientation: tip up, tip down, or left side carry.

  1. Stefan S. says:

Benchmade axis system is just as good. Cheaper too! Just as fast with a flip of the wrist. No spring issues or draconian laws against automatics!

  2. Great purpotions, plunger lock will be industry standard going forward. The large painted safety is simple and easy in low light and in use with Night Vision. Lanyard hole allows for use of functional or decrative 550 cord without adding the width bulk. All in all, great new weapon !
