    About time!

Anyone who has use night-vision gear, particularly systems with thermal sensitivity, may have noticed that “black” lights up like Christmas.

The old “chocolate chip” camo made wearers look like Christmas trees through thermal/IR viewers.

Black absorbs and holds heat, but beyond a certain point, it radiates the excess, hence the “image problem”.

Besides which, apart from a burnt forest (or city block) how much pure black occurs in nature?

Socially, black is unpleasantly reminiscent of a certain bunch of jackboot-wearing, heel-clicking crazies.

Whatever you wear, avoid washing it with the domestic washing powders that promise “brighter whites” etc. Adding fluorescers to your night fighting suit may not be a good idea.

      Yet Multicam has black.

Grey was the new black 5-6 years ago, am I the only one that remembers that? Like my parents always told me, what’s in fashion goes out and comes back in

Bruce? Whaddya’ got against Goth kids? That’s some serious “black” hatin’ goin’ on. HAHAHAH

Agreed though, unless struck by lightening? Not much in nature is actually black.

Been in love with the Wolf shade science SHOT 2013 and the revel of the Khard design. Al the other shades have been favouites for years. The color wears well, blends a well in urban environs. It’s an all around perfect transitional color.

OH and the Khard 30 and LBT pouches take a real beating andare comfortable as hell.

  8. John Denny says:

Back in the day, the PD wore what is now “Wolf”. My Dad said pretty much everything that is being said now about how well it worked. Funny how lessons have to be re-learned… over and over.

What’s awesome is reading “after rigorous testing, it’s been found that the best color for urban operations is grey!” Like it’s some sort of new discovery.
