Agilite Offering Mitznefet Helmet Shaper in MultiCam

First off, you need to know what a Mitznefet is. The Mitznefet is a mesh helmet shaper used by Israeli troops to break up the outline of their helmets. See below for a photo.

Agilite just introduced a MultiCam variant of this bit effective bit of Israeli kit. Since it’s made from mesh, Agilite also suggests that it can be worn without a helmet, directly on the head, allowing “for an air flow to the head and for heat to escape keeping you shaded, camouflaged and cool in combat environments.”

    Does it have NIR properties?
That’s what I also wonder about the mesh helmet covers posted here some days ago.

  2. Agilite says:

We do have other camo, IR and thermal variants but they are export-controlled.

Having used the Mitznefet in the army, I will tell you that it’s best feature is not any camouflage or outline breakup, but rather that it provides you much needed shade to your face and you can pull it down to create a full face mesh to protect against bugs, etc.

That does indeed look like a cool bit o’ kit. I can see a number of uses.

    (however)

$80 seems pretty steep. Or am I missing something?

    • Agilite says:

The reason for the price is the large amount of fabric-it takes over a square yard of mil-spec Multicam mesh to make a Mitznefet-same amount as about 35 Mohawk helmet covers!

These may look silly but I believe in them, nothing is quite as recognizable as a hard round silhouette.

Just received mine from Agilite. They shipped immediately, but the USPS sat on it for more than a week before sending it along…(yes, the same USPS that can’t figure out why it’s going bankrupt).

Note the colors are a VERY light version of Multicam, which should be OK if you’re in an area with lighter colors but could be a problem in a more wooded or intensely colored area. A little local dirt rubbed in should tone it down a bit.

Workmanship is outstanding, and I’m very happy to have it. This thing will easily fit over your stowed NV, helmet battery, goggle, etc.
