Vero Beach, FL, – December 2013 – Gorilla Ammunition is now offering a new load of .223 ammunition that utilizes the 77 Grain Sierra MatchKing bullet. This new offering comes just a few short weeks after the introduction of the 300 BlackOut subsonic loads which utilize the 220 grain Sierra MatchKing projectile. Gorilla Ammunition is a division of PCP Ammunition who is a research and development firm and manufacturer of polymer cased ammunition. PCP Ammunition currently holds contracts with the US Department of Defense to deliver an improved .50 caliber precision round and a family of improved subsonic ammunition.

    I don’t know what the current going rate for 5.56 is these days but this stuff seems to be a bit pricey at $1/round, isn’t that what 338 Lapua was going for and that was considered to be pricey by some. I guess that quality comes at a price but I don’t think that I could justify $1 rounds every time I go to the range, then again it’s probably not being marketed towards people like who are looking for cheap plinking ammo.
