The L3 Thermal Eye X320 Night Vision Thermal Imaging Device is a monocular camera initially unveiled during SHOT Show. I had the chance to try one out earlier this year during an industry hog hunt and was very impressed.
The X320 is offers 320×240 resolution with white hot, black hot, and 3-color modes. Capable of 2x, 3x, and 4x zoom, it can detect human activity from up to 800 yards away. An onboard video port allows for simultaneous recording, and included user interface software allows for customizable camera features. The X320 is capable of a run time of up to 6 hours on 2 AA batteries. Available in either 30 Hz or 9 Hz.

I spent a bit of time with the previous X300 (blue body) and it was really intuitive and easy to use. The power in and video out seemed like no-brainers. The “click” pause when there’s a human silouette on screen is super handy for fighting the monotony and boredom associated with long watches and scanning an area. This new money with a color scale looks amazing and having a 9Hz model for export is plenty smart.
Mike, that was an X200
