The MP 43/MP 44/StG 44 or Sturmgewehr 44 is the first mass-produced and fielded assault rifle in history, having been developed and utilized by the German forces during WWII. Hill & Mac Gunworks will soon be offering a US-made modern interpretation of this iconic rifle chambered for multiple common rifle cartridges, as well as the original 7.92×33 Kurz. The HMG Sturmgewehr will use standard AR-15 magazines, and is designed to accept all standard semi-auto HK-style trigger packs. The barrel will be swappable for separate lengths and calibers, and the rifle will feature a top-mounted Picatinny rail for the attachment of optical accessories. The HMG Sturmgewehr is planned to be released in Fall/Winter of this year.

Fall release, but there’s no actual photos of the rifle (just renderings)?
I’m pretty sure the internet is busy jizzing themselves anyway. Granpappy HK that takes STANAG 556 mags and ammo? YES PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE.
The MP44 uses a long stroke gas piston unlike the HK series.
This is pretty damn cool. Also saw the “CETME-L” rifle.
5.45x39mm with AK74 mags would look ‘da shit’!
I like .300
Yeah, but I was speaking purely from an aesthetic perspective.
Mind you – .223 using 40-round HK93 mags would look pretty damn awesome too. And would keep things nicely ‘Teutonic’. 😉
please let me when you release ….I am a 30 yr vet Police Officer and Viet Nam Vet….Have shot the original German version and would love to have one in762x39 or 9×19
oh my i need one i need one no no I NEED TWO !
Million dollar question: will it be vaporware like the Bren Ten revivals?
This is where I was going with my original question (see top of comments).
Am I the only one who thinks this should be a faithful replica of the original?
YES! I will buy three! One of each! While everyone else has been busy cloning AR and AK rifles you guys came up with the missing link!!!! You will have a real hot seller for sure. Very smart move to say the least. Now keep the price below 1299.00 and make your money on volume or you will lose those people who cannot afford more.
