OR – SOG Knives & Tools to Introduce New Line of Packs

In the corner of the SOG Knives booth, tucked away were six packs hanging on the wall. I asked the rep manning the booth if they had any literature on the packs and he replied by telling me that they arrived right before the show and he didn’t know anything about them yet, except that they were coming. The rep wasn’t very interested in even talking about them and I couldn’t move them but I did surmise that they incorporate what we would consider up-to-date features like laser or diecut PALS channels as well as hardened lids to protect the contents.

Sorry about these photos but trade show lighting is awful enough as it is and these were only lit by some filtered sunlight.

I guess I don’t get out a lot, but I was surprised to see a whole line of SOG products in a Walmart in WV the other week. If these bags ended up in Walmart for the right price I will bite.
SSD- your pictures are fine they do the job.

These are some nice looking packs. Hope they work as well as they look.

Little one looks pretty good. Anything on the sizes?

As an industry observation, I am consistently amazed that companies will spend THOUSANDS going to a show and then not prep their sales people or even have product info. What a waste.

laser cut PALS is sure getting around, noticed a lot at the camelbak booth too.

Agreed, it’s amazing for some of these companies to have a line of products there for show but little to no information on them!!

That situation is about as old as trade shows are. Its a choice of putting it in front of people because it’s new or not having info for the sales people because it’s new. It’s another reason I personally have little use for rep groups.

Seriously, why can’t my job to be the dude who regurgitates info!? I would love to do that!!! Get to talk to new people constantly and learn/bestow knowledge about new gear. Seems like less of a job and more like bragging about what cool new piece of kit you just bought to a bunch of people…granted I guess thats if you care about the products like some of us do

You make it all sound so easy. I’d suggest you give it a go. You obviously have it all figured out.

Something wrong with PALS on the pictures. It is hard to understand the scale, but it feels that the geometry is not compatible with PALS

    • Haji says:

It could be an optical illusion, but I see what you’re saying. It appears to be more than an inch between the rows.

Those are R Lee Ugly. They look like some Oakley ripoff, but somehow more generic. And the pals do look off.
