Exotac – tinderZIP

Introduced at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market earlier this month, the tinderZIP from Exotac is a zipper pull made with Live Fire Gear Fire Cord.  The interior strands of this kernmantel construction cord can be used as fire starters when removed from the sheath.  They’ll make a great addition to jackets and other gear.

So how do you get these? Does Netflix and chill work? I hear that’s the best way to go for tinder.

Are these regular Fire Cord or are all the inner strands the tinder material? That would be better for this kind of thing.

      From SSD’s post:

Yes but can ALL of them be used as tinder? Regular FireCord has 8 inner strands and 1 of them is tinder material. I’d like to know if this is the same cord or if since it’s a small item they used the tinder material for every strand.

Either way I think these would go with one or two of the RE Factor versions since these look nicer and you really don’t need a ferro rod for every zipper.
