GORUCK Clothing Now Available

The GORUCK clothing line announced earlier this year is now available. They’ve only released two garments: Rucking Shirt and Challenge Pant.  Apparently, the planned Simple Pant didn’t make the cut in pre-ordering.  GORUCK is very proud that these garments are Made in the USA.

    Waist 32-38 only.

    Fatties need not apply, lol

    • D.B. says:

      Neither should taller folk.

No 36″ inseam or ‘un-hemmed’ leg cuff option.

      Whatever…

  2. Dellis says:

Thinkin bout buying some pants. Anyone have experience with their products? Honestly never heard of them

    • Giovani says:

I think people overpay for their US made bags (featureless for the price), but they’re well constructed.

Personally I would buy from Kitanica or Beyond before I turn to GoRuck.

      • EB says:

I own a good bit of Beyond’s stuff, but I think these prices are a little less than Beyond. Situates them between the price point of TAD and Beyond.

      • Dellis says:

I do own some Beyond items and I agree, super well made and tough. My dog just dragged me last night thru my rock garden as she chased something in the night and my Beyond pants held up without a scratch thru the rocks! My pride though, did not.

I own a lot of GORUCK gear. Its expensive, which everyone will tell you.

I bought the shirt after seeing it at a Challenge and I have friends who wear the pants.

I can vouch for the quality of the shirt and my friends continue to wear the pants at GORUCK events.

5.11 Ridgeline Pants are cheaper and do the same job but, they aren’t American and don’t have the GORUCK warranty.

The New Tactical Yupie Clothing Line for the Tactical Metrosexual.

    • Diddler says:

For the folks who pay to pretend they’re at SFAS or BUDS for a weekend and think it makes them part of the pack.

      • Matt says:

Then they go back to there 9 to 5 and brag about how they hung out with so and so. Then they go home and get bossed around by the wife and ask if it is ok if they get tofu from whole foods instead of the Chinese place.

I never get the verbal spew against X company. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything.

So here’s a company that is selling a US made long sleeve shirt for $75 retail (mil discount is a lot lower), and appears to be built to outlast. Velocity sells a US made long sleeve for $79 retail, (mil discount at various dealers, not as much % wise), and although equally awesome, is not purpose built for the type of use GoRuck is. Don’t recall hearing any bashing against VelSyst. As for the GoRuck challenges, what do I care? If a certain swatch of American society wants to pay to hang out with a bunch of Group dudes (and now MARSOC and SEALs as well apparently), get smoked in some suckfest, what do I care? If anything, it’s connecting the citizenry to a military culture, exposing them to the positive side of it, and they’re putting in work to boot. Can’t say that for the vast majority of sloths roaming around the states who have no personal connection to anything in the .mil, are giant tubs of lard and care not to fix either.

This coming from a dude who loves his Boss Rugbys, owns GoRucks training sand bags, and was paid by Uncle Sugar to actually go do the events en vivo and finished successful.

Seems like they are trying to leverage the superb reputation they have for backpacks into other gear. I just bought a GR2, abandoning the LBT 3 day assault pack I had been using for the last year. The Goruck is a better bag, at least organizationally with a lot of capacity and attention to detail. Its also built like a tank, ditto the LBT. I don’t see how that organizational acumen in bags would necessarily translate into more conventional items clothing though.

First World Observation that sort of captures the essence:

Walking past my local Whole Foods as a GoRuck crew is beating itself on the sidewalk out front.

They seem like a rock solid made in USA company that is trying to make it just like any other tactical/militaryish company. I am in the military but I’m not a SFAS or BUDS. I’m not trying to be either. They do what I can’t. However, what is wrong with trying to better yourself at these events? It’s better than being in a gym looking at yourself in the mirror. I’d rather have people around me that approve of the military lifestyle than those who preach peace and global warming. It is easier to be a cry baby and find complaints than to keep your mouth shut if you don’t like it. If you’ve been in the military, you know how to keep your mouth shut when it sucks.
