This is great but what I’m waiting for is the announcement of G17 pmag +5 extensions.

  2. Cory says:

Is that a Magpul bolt knob as well? Coming soon?

  3. Dellis says:

Damn it!! I just sold my 700….well, back to Academy cause they are on sale for $359

  4. Comprehension says:

And with some luck…okay, a lot of luck…these AICS Pmags will function better than the SA AICS pattern Pmags. Not saying they ALL suck – but it is known amongst those who have used them they are hit or miss. With these LA mags, I may need to see if a buddy will drop the coin to test one as he was just inquiring me as to availability for these mags. $20 is not much of a savings between metal AICS mags that always function and a polymer (plastic) mag with known questionable function.

    • Magpul says:

SA AICS pattern PMags should remain constant in terms of dimensions and function especially in a bolt action platform due to their manufacturing method. An AI PMag that has issues on a platform should have the same issue with another AI Pmag. Anyone having inconsistencies in function should contact our customer service.

So, no personal experience with the product but you find the need to bash it…OK, makes perfect sense.

    • JKifer says:

The only time I’ve had a magpul product (gen 2 Pmag) not work perfectly for me was the spine cracking at the top of the mag where the primers are. This was caused due to being inserted into my duty weapon every day for years…still worked great and this is in the SW CONUS deserts. Contacted Magpul, had a new mag within the week and lo and behold they fixed the issue with the gen 3’s… outstanding products.

    • SPQR476 says:

Yeah…not sure where you got the “known amongst those who use them…” stuff as we’ve not heard or seen any issues in extensive testing, except some compatibility concerns with a very few fitments of actual Accuracy International rifles. AICS chassis, all other AICS mag compatible bottom metals, and of course, in our own Bolt Action Mag Well, we have tested thoroughly and received positive feedback from a considerable list of contributors.

  5. JKifer says:

I wonder what the weight comparison to a McMillan A4 would be. Magpul says 3.2lbs.. McMillan A4 says +/- 4lbs… IDK, my A4 is pretty heavy and this looks nice and light.

  6. Dan S says:

Awesome. I was disappointed when they released a 700 stock in SA and not LA, guess they just needed a few extra months to play pocket pool.
