Damn shame this came along after the CA “single-shot” exemption rush…

    looks good!

It’s sure nice to have that option, but as an MP5 owner, I have to ask: why? Genuine HK MP5 magazines are way more expensive than Glock magazines or high quality AR15 9mm mags.

It would be interesting to see the magazine release mechanism of that lower. MP5 mags often dont drop freely from MP5 receivers, I wonder if Quarter Circle 10 has spring loaded the mag release

I agree. They’ve been real secretive about this project and now I also say, WTF. MP5 mags? Unless they are factory mags, most are unreliable. Factory MP5 mags are too expensive. They really should have made one that uses M&P, Beretta 92, or XD mags. These three are WAY more popular than the MP5.

Good points. I expect QC10 thinks People will buy them and have been asking for a MP5 option.

There are still a lot of MP5s in the back of arms room and even more mags sitting on shelves with deadlined sub guns. Few want to spend limited maintenance funds for repairing the HKs, but something new that uses existing inventory of magazines may gin up a few hundred sales. Plus there are a lot more armorers who can maintain an AR platform but the MP5 mechanics retired five years ago…. Long guns are the thing to have out on the street these post Paris days.

That said, I own a QC10 Glock small frame. It is still a blowback gun, not delayed roller. Not the same.

Main reason for MP5 mags is probably because everyone loves the MP5 and there is a good following for the weapon, except they are expensive as hell to get a hold of. Even the POF clones are pricey. This will give people the feel of owning an MP5 without dishing out MP5 money lol.

The curved mag look improves aesthetics (which matters to some people), and probably would feed more reliably than stick mags thanks to the curve (9mm luger rounds are somewhat tapered, not straight as some people would think).

POF makes very good MP5 magazines for about $30, there are many surplus Korean ones out there that work just fien for $15 each or less. But some people (like me) would dish out the $60-$70 each for genuine HK-made magazines.

I’m sure these lowers will sell very well for QC10, which is obviously their main goal.

I plan on doing mag changes over a Temperpedic mattress.

  5. Chris says:

Looks good, hope they continue with more pistol mag options like sig, smith, beretta etc.

    • John says:

Doubtful. It would be too much money spent on tooling for options that wouldn’t sell as well as Glock lowers.
