There are loads of mobility platforms at the Great American Outdoor Show from a wide variety of manufacturers. There’s everything from boats to motorcycles to tracked ATVs. I even picked up a fat tire bike.
Granted, I was drawn to this Kawasaki KLR 650 by its paint job, but it is a great bike. This Enduro-style bike boasts a 651cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine, Long-travel 41mm telescopic fork, Adjustable Uni-Trak® rear suspension, 6.1-gallon fuel tank for long-range adventure touring, Large windscreen helps reduce wind buffeting and Sturdy rear cargo rack.

They may call that ‘matrix camo grey’ and lack foliage green shade but that reeks of a ‘well loved and regarded’ UCP. 😉
“UCP – the camo that refuses to die”
My initial thoughts, too.
Haha.
Just remember, MARPAT uses the same screens…
Sure, but MARPAT is a little more colorful than UCP and the one shown on this bike, e.g earthy-desert browns or woodland greens.
Having lived in the DC metro area during 9/11 and seen the traffic tie-up (it took my then (now ex) wife NINE HOURS to get out of the PARKING GARAGE in Crystal City), it is clear only a bike will get you out of Dodge in similar circumstances.
After considerable research, I chose the KLR650 as my escape vehicle. I’ve owned a succession of them and never regretted the choice. Even added a hitch to tow a small trailer, along with a bunch of other farkles to make it a more effective bug out machine. The only real problem is it’s nearly 500 lbs wet and unmodified, but like everything else there’s a tradeoff. Paint job not that important to me as long as not colorful, so all mine have been black.
Ha, I used that excuse once too. Except I got caught in the parking by my ex wife! Now I ride my bike when there’s traffic too.
Killers have been good bikes for a long time, very reasonable choice.I’ve just worked way too many bike fatalities to ever truly trust them as more than a toy.
