For this week’s Friday Focus, FirstSpear is announcing the availability of the long awaited Manatee Grey colorway for the Wind Cheater shell. The Wind Cheater is a durable yet breathable lightweight shell made with Duro Ambush with DWR treatment, which provides protection from light precipitation. The Wind Cheater also compresses well for storage, and is flexible, with a longer tail that will keep the wearer’s lower back and seat covered.
The Wind Cheater sports a number of features that benefit the overall functionality of the shell. The articulated hood is sized to fit over a helmet, and includes rear bungee retention, which allows the wearer to adjust it to their optimal size. Both sleeves feature zippered bicep pockets, FS’ low-profile Velcro attachment panels, and adjustable cuffs. Pit zips on either side of the Wind Cheater offer improved airflow and ventilation at the user’s discretion. The Wind Cheater also has two large-sized zippered torso pockets.

So many companies make great gear for covert work (this FS jacket included), and stick velcro patches on the arms. Would be nice to see a no velcro (NV) special order option.
Hill People Gear’s Wind Cheater might be what you’re looking for. No Velcro, modified pocket layout (Napoleon instead of hand warmers) for wear with a pack belt, etc. I think it’s a collaborative work between HPG and FS.

I’ll check it out thx.
You can use an exacto and just cut the thread holding the velcro with no ill effects. In fact mine seems to be coming off by itself…
I was going to recommend Wild Things Gear Mountain series, but they don’t seem to exist anymore.. looks like straight tactical.
SSD do you know anything about this?
Maybe they can fix the zippers on this thing because they are trash. Get stuck all the time on bits of thread that appear out of nowhere from inside the jacket. Love the thing but the zippers are a no-go.
In stock in Manatee Grey at O P Tactical.
The trend toward lower tails and backs is great for those of us who don’t carry our pistols in front of our gastrointestinal tracts.
It’s more designed around the alpine crowd and people that want to keep covered when they bend over, yet leave a climbing harness accessible and tangle free.
And lets be real, despite the grey color, this jacket screams “gun”.
Only to gun people.
