Damn great shot!
God bless the thrill seekers, so that I can click through their amazing experiences from the comfort of my living room.
Wonderful shot.
Larry Burroughs was a phenomenal photographer, war correspondent and bad-ass: for a civilian. His death was tragic as were all the rest. I highly suggest the readers here google and see how his iconic images affected the world community.
Hi, between 1957 and 1971 I worked with Larry on many occasions. Usually photographing paintings in art galleries and private collections. I also processed the Ektachrome results, usually 10×8 or 5×4 transparencies. Larry really was the professionals professional. Even after an all night session in the Egyptian gallery in the British Museum every lighting cable had to be correctly wound for ease of use next time. Only time I ever new Larry to be late was for Princess Margaret’s wedding. He has been out photographing the crowds around Buckingham Palace and the Mall until around midnight, then slipped home to Kensington for a brief sleep, when I phoned him at around 5-00am from Time-Life in Bond Street he answered the phone then promptly went back to sleep while I was talking to him. I managed to awaken him with repeated shouting, and was quite proud of myself to be on the Victoria memorial out side Buck House a half and hour ahead of Larry.
You won’t see many of today’s media willing to lay it on the line for anything except a Commiee agenda!
Bizarre statement considering the amount of journalists killed doing their job in the last 25+ years…
A very ignorant and ill-informed statement at that…
Ideologues live in a bubble constructed of impenetrable Confirmation Bias and bitch about the press all the time.
So who’s taking the photo of the combat cameraman? I want to see his pics, cause that shot is badass
