BioLite Launches HeadLamp on Kickstarter

Launching today on Kickstarter is the HeadLamp from BioLite, who claims, “It’s a wearable that’s actually wearable.”

It’s a really neat design. The 3D SlimFit Construction incorporates a 3D-molded housing integrating the electronics directly into the fabric for a SUPER thin front that sits flush on your forehead. This, combined with the power source mounted to the rear, results in a balanced, no bounce design.

The rechargeable design offers 330 lumens in the following modes: dimmable white spot, dimmable white flood, red flood, and strobe. Plus the panel articulates easily with one hand so you can direct your light where you need it.

Offered in limited quantities on Kickstarter. What’s more, early adopters will get a free Light Diffusing Stuffsack with their pledge, turning their HeadLamp into a hangable lantern. These will be delivered by the end of the year. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until Spring, 2019 for them to be restocked.

  1. Grey is sold out. Non-tactical colors are left. Also not sure if the modes need to be cycled thru. Maybe that’s what the ‘lock’ mode is. No info on KS site.

When you press the button, it turns on in the last mode you used, then you keep pressing repeatedly to progress to the next mode. Red, White Spot, White Flood, Both Whites, Strobe, etc.

  2. Pete says:

Neat design, but the integral battery relegates it to basically light-duty/novelty use. Could be nice to keep in the car for occasional use, but nobody who uses a headlamp professionally wants their light to die and be forced to go plug it in rather than simply changing batteries.

Asked about any other color runs and or when grey would be available again, listed below is the reply.

I can’t say for sure what the plan is for future runs, but our product team is looking into additional colors for a V2 version. Either way, February 2019 we will have grey units available for purchase on our eComm site.
