  1. Ed says:

Interesting, why a pic of “Slab” for the 243 bday?

    • SSD says:

He is the US Navy’s recent Medal Of Honor recipient.

      • Ed says:

He is retired, but I find it interesting that he was awarded the MoH and not one of the many that got killed on that abortion of landing on the X.

I’m glad Chapman was finally recognized but I still scratch my head about Slab there.

        Whatever

        • JM Gavin says:

Britt Slabinski was awarded the MoH because he earned it. He’s also a damn good man.

If you believe other men earned a MoH that day, contact the appropriate Member of Congress, and get the process started.

  2. Toad man says:

Love it, throwing a frog right on the front!

  3. Db says:

Looks like an action movie poster

  4. Easy E says:

I’ve always been curious was to why they wear the medal and the ribbon for the Medal of Honor.

    Happy Bday, Navy

  5. #NOTASEAL says:

I refuse to acknowledge the Navy annnnd National Guard’s iIllegitimate and made up birthdays which were only “established” recently in a futile attempt to one up the Marine Corps who is and always be America’s oldest branch of the military

    • SSD says:

Sorry old man, but the Army starting whooping ass first.

All three services were created by acts of Congress, one after another.

      • #NOTASEAL says:

        I call Shenanigans!!!

And you’re only as old as the women you’re sleeping with.

        Happy 32nd birthday to me.

    • Stefan S. says:

#notaseal, more like not a historian either. US Army June 14, 1775. Jarheads Nov 10, 1775. Do I need to spell it out for you? BTW, the US Army won that war. There was hardly any Navy and even fewer Marines. Just thought I’d educate you.

  6. Oh Billy... says:

Dudes, we should be celebrating an American who answered the call. The Op went sideways, comms were crap and they fought, not us. To Monday morning quarterback a mission that you weren’t part of, is BS. Entire communications systems & tactics were developed from the shortfalls of this mission. I suggest some of you idiots read about the details of what actually happened, the limitations they had and the real time decisions that were made.

  7. Ed says:

Lot of butt-hurt and name calling just from one question and follow up reply! Happy Effing BDay, fellow sqidlies and wannabes! Don’t forget the tissues! Lol

    • JM Gavin says:

…writes the guy that challenges the validity of an awarded MoH, while inferring inside knowledge about others that should have received a MoH for the same action…

I’ll take this to mean you are submitting the recommendations for the other Medals of Honor to the appropriate Members of Congress, since you were clearly present on Takur Ghar.

      • Ed says:

Sure Gavin, just let me know when your available so I can shove those recommendations up your anus so you can proof them before I finalize the draft and mail them to MoH submission board! Lol

        Now…..that’s some REAL butt-hurt!!! Lol

  8. Ed says:

    Me: whatever?

“Gavin” : “I know you are but what am I??”
