GLOCK Introduces Slimline Series

Introducing Two New GLOCK Slimline Models

Designed for Comfort

Unique Features

Maximum Value

SMYRNA, Ga. – January 2, 2019 Today, GLOCK, Inc. announces two additions to the GLOCK pistol family.  The GLOCK 43X and the GLOCK 48 feature the design of the Slimline series with a silver slide and are a perfect fit for everyday carry. Chambered in 9X19, both pistols feature a compact Slimiline frame with silver nPVD finish and a 10-round magazine capacity making them ideal for concealed carry.

“With the success of the Slimline series in the marketplace and over one million GLOCK 43 pistols sold in just three years, the Slimline series pistols have been tested, trusted and proven,” said GLOCK, Inc. VP Josh Dorsey.  “We listened to the consumers request for a GLOCK Slimline model with increased round capacity and both of these pistols deliver that flawlessly.  GLOCK’s continued pursuit of perfection drives innovation while not straying from our promise of reliability and durability and that is demonstrated in the G43X and G48.”

Designed for comfort, the G43X and G48 combine a fuller-size grip length with a minimal profile of approximately 1” for a comfortably balanced, versatile grip that’s ideal for a variety of users. While the two pistols share the same size frame, they have different slide lengths.  The slide for the G43X is the same sub-compact length as the G43 (6.06 in.) while the G48 has a compact length (6.85 in) and is compliant with Canadian regulations.

These pistols incorporate elements of the Slimline series such as the short trigger distance, a frame with a built-in beavertail, a reversible magazine catch and the incredibly accurate, match-grade GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB). The G43X and G48 also feature precision-milled front serrations. Both models are available in three sight configurations; standard, GLOCK Night Sights (GNS), and Ameriglo BOLD.

The silver Slimline models G43X and G48 will be showcased at SHOT Show 2019 and will be available on dealer shelves beginning January 21st.

Thats very interesting, for sure want to check these out. Even if they do not replace my 43 this could mean a possible glock factory 10 rnd mag that is compatible with the 43?

  2. BillC says:

It’s a line of Glocks that many have cried for, but since its now here, many, even some of the ones that cried for it, will bemoan its existence while declaring that it’s obviously not a Glock G19.

  3. Ray Forest says:

I came here to laugh at the hate mail. Where are all the comments? Previous poster hit the nail on the head. Everyone asked for 20 years for a single stack 19. Now they moan about it ?

    • James says:

Almost 30 years, since 93 at least.
Glad it’s finally here, everyone is a little different and no we get choices!
Like the 19 ? Great gun!
      Like the 26? Great gun!
      Like the 43? Great gun!
      Like the 48? Great gun!
      Like the 43X? Great gun!
Maybe a 48X down the line? Bet the 48 slide will fit right on a 43 frame…
      Maybe they’ll get their coveted 17X( 19 frame-17 slide)
Maybe they’ll get a19X2(19 slide with 26 frame)
Truth is Glock has got much better at responding to customer desire, and I’m a big fan of incremental improvement rather than bringing out a radical new design every couple of years that falls flat and dissapears.

      • QWERTY says:

        James,
all good, points, their products are solid, and more variety is simply that more.

        • Alpha2 says:

more choices always good! Glock is doing a better job the past several years of listening to consumers wants.

    • Kyle Kata says:

      Not exactly, missing a rail. I want a single stack 19, I’ll probdbly settle for a 48.

      • Ray Forest says:

Again there’s not as much material and strength there for a rail. I think this lesson was learned with the G22. Industry will likely find a way to put a light there via different attachment method. If it was the thickness of the 43 but had a 19 thickness dust cover to accommodate a standard rail in a way that maintained reliability, people would say they did it wrong and ruined the pistol.

      • Corbin says:

Streamlight offers the Streamlight TLR-6 already for the baby glocks. Though the lumen output is anemic compared to today’s standards, the concept shows its possible to attach a light. Hopefully more pistols like this will push companies (Looking at you streamlight) to offer more options such as the TLR-6 for these guns.

    G43- wide 1.06″, height w/mag 4.25″
    G26- wide 1.26″, height w/mag 4.17″-flush mag
    G43x- wide 1.10″, height w/mag 5.04″
    G48- wide 1.10″, height w/mag 5.04″
So, why? 43x and 48 take different mags than the 43 or 26. 26 is 10 rounds with a shorter height and only 0.16 inches wider. You can buy mag extensions for the 43 to bring up capacity. I just don’t see the reason for a product made for conceal carry yet is at least 3/4″ longer than the other established carry pieces from Glock. I’m sure there will be some who will love it, just not me.

    • James says:

That’s the beauty of it. Big guy, so the 26 leaves half my ring finger dangling in just the right spot that I have to take it off the gun to reload. Not any easier to carry a 26 for me than a 19, the 43 is but same issues with the short grip.
My daughter on the other hand has issues with the grip on both the 26 and 19 ,so the 48 might be right up her alley for a full size gun.
