SIG SAUER Introduces the SIG AIR P365 BB Pistol

NEWINGTON, N.H., (April 17, 2019) – From the SIG AIR division, SIG SAUER is pleased to introduce the new P365 BB Pistol.  Modeled after the award winning SIG SAUER P365 everyday, high capacity, micro-compact, concealed carry pistol, this CO2-powered, semi-automatic BB pistol features realistic blowback action and is an exceptional training tool for personal defense.

The P365 BB pistol is designed to fit in available P365 holster systems for easy practice of efficiently drawing from concealment.  The 12-round drop magazine holds 4.5mm (.177 cal) steel BBs and also houses the 12gr CO2 cartridge for fast reloading.

“The SIG P365 9mm pistol has won numerous awards for its concealability, performance, and exceptional magazine capacity and has quickly become the top choice for concealed carry,” said Joseph Huston, Vice President and General Manager of SIG AIR. “Our new P365 BB Pistol will give P365 owners and others who carry for personal protection a training tool of the highest quality when a trip to the range for live fire is not possible.  The P365 BB Pistol has similar balance and handling characteristics as the centerfire model and holds 12-rounds for realistic training. The drop magazine also allows fast and easy reloading.”

The P365 BB Pistol shoots up to 295 fps; however, velocity results may vary depending on temperature and altitude.

Great idea till a kid brings it to school or gets shot by a cop. Not smart given today’s gun hysterics.

As a LE I encounter these type of pellet/bb pistols regularly and I have to agree. We have investigated numerous individuals who have had similar weapons in their possession, used them for robberies and even pointed them at officers which involved use of deadly force.

Survival of the fittest. People want to clown around and lose their lives thats on them. Noone else

        • Tyler Kinley says:

I agree. Don’t take away my right to own a realistic bb replica of guns I can’t afford to own because someone got themselves shot. Believe me, they knew what they were doing when they did it. They WANTED to make it deadly force situation. Don’t lose sleep over them.

We got enough to worry about sorting out laws for real guns. Don’t complicate things by outlawing these. Please. I can’t afford to have an arsenal of every real gun I want, so sometimes I must settle for high dollar replicas. I have the real firearms that I REALLY want. Still, let’s not screw this up. BB guns and replicas can play a very good role in safety training.

    • SSD says:

So you want to ban something because of poor judgement?

      • SpankDaddyCool says:

Is that the mantra of the entire anti-gun crowd?

And props to SIG, great idea and great training tool. Im still not warmed completely up to SIG “quality”, but they are really doing everything they can to go in the right direction.

        • Alpha2 says:

I never said anything about banning them and you’re barking up the wrong tree with anti gun bullshit. I, myself, personally do not see any need for something ultra realistic looking when it could easily have a distinguishing feature so you could readily identify it.

          • Jeb says:

We had realistic toy guns as kids, in Calif of all places, and never once felt a risk of interaction by Peace Officers. Looking back, they obviously didn’t feel the need to respond and the community didn’t rush to call 911…maybe people were just smarter – maybe parents were more accountable and could beat their kids ass for dumbshit behavior discouraging the shit they get away with now. Maybe I’m biased. The need to paint toy guns was bred out of fear. Ironic since people spend hundreds to have their real guns painted like toy guns.

            • SamHill says:

Interesting thoughts to ponder on, Jeb. I just saw a headline some kid called 911 to order McDonalds. The big gov indoctrination camps teach everyone to run to the big government representative instead of handle problems at a lower level and to handle problems efficiently. Seems to be the nature of a bureaucracy.

I think the cops shooting a kid with a toy gun is just an unfortunate circumstance, turned into political propaganda by media crooks with agendas. 187 on the MOFO police has been mainstream for decades now, and a corrupt pop culture is part of this problem. If a person gets into a justified shoot and it turns out later, the gun was a toy, so be it. Lamestream TV culture wouldn’t shed a tear if it was the other way around.
Rabid liberalism and socialist government programs have broken survival of the fittest, and they are paying for it with your credit card. The effects of this are going to continually spill over onto the populace in ways like this. Lets not give up any more rights over it, everybody.

I can see the benefit of practicing with a companion bb gun in the back yard if you can’t make it to the range with your real gun. Smart idea, IMO.

Do you have to have a permit to carry this pistol in ct. ?

  3. Mike L says:

Excellent. I have a P320 one already and have been very happy with it. It’s great when I have new shooters over to the house and I can use it as a tool to teach the golden rules of firearms safety.

Plus with the nearest range being 40-60 minutes away, I can practice dry firing in the backyard. I’ll likely paint it orange or blue though to make it immediately apparent it’s not my EDC.

  4. Joe says:

A CO2 BB pistol is a worse trainer than an airsoft pistol, cuz you can use an airsoft pistol for force and Force training and steel bb you can’t. In addition it has the orange markings, which reduces confusion with the real thing.

Sig should drop their BB line and replace it with airsoft

    • James Anter says:

You wont post the truth PUSSYS!

    • Cory C. says:

Agreed. It’s helpful to have airsoft versions of real guns.

    • Rob says:

What’s to keep crooks from gluing the orange tips to real guns, or painting them bright colors to make them look like “toys?’
And then there’s the kid who broke off the orange tip of his airsoft pistol, and got shot when he pointed it at a cop!
I have a LEO friend who said that if you point your finger at him like a gun, you could get shot – they don’t have time to distinguish, and while some look real, they can’t take any chances. Of course, he was a little less than 100% serious about the finger comment…

  5. James Anter says:

We should outlaw spoons to cause they make you fat like Rosie O Donald. If she had no spoon do ya think she would be skinny? Point is people will use whatever it takes, if not the Sig bb gun then another. Should the responsible people not have access to this because some idiot might use it in a robbery. Natural selection any one remember that? If someone points it at police so be it ! Like they dont know the consequenes and the cops get to shoot someone so every one is happy. Since they will all unload there clips they get some target practice too. Weve done Way with natural selection so much we now have a lot of idiots , and look how that has turned out . Like the first two people who commented on this . Go put your helmet on and dont fall of your bikes.

  6. Jeb says:

Years ago in another life while living in Calif, I was privy to watching a piece of work (I.e. thieving, meth addict, overall grade A POS) get worked over with a vehicle steering wheel lock. Suffice to say it was much bloodier, violent and physically damaging than any small caliber gunshot I’ve ever seen. Moral of the sum? We can explore a lot of ideas regarding gun violence or how LEO perceive firearms in the hands of the People but ultimately we are ignoring the tools that create bigger messes. Same old song and dance on gun ownership with even a BB gun. SMH. As for the whole can’t conduct force on force with BB guns…you obviously grew up in the city and never played guns with something to indicate a “hit”. I can assure you with proper clothing and equipment, and even without, BB guns work great for force on force. Just keep tweezers and a poker to pull the damn BB’s out. In truth, sim rounds hurt much phucking worse.

    • Joe says:

so why in the world would you want to train with something that requires you to remove foreign objects from forceps when you can easily train with something that doesn’t?

I’ve used man marker rounds, they do hurt and we’ll put a hole in your uniform, they are also expensive (and unless you’re SF you won’t have to budget to use extensively) and require specialized training facilities, and use modified real guns that you still need to maintain accountability for and keep in the arms room.

Airsoft is cheaper easier more accessible with less headache and regulation.

There’s a reason why SF, CA and the MP on JBLM use airsoft

      • Jeb says:

Agreed in regards to airsoft. We just didn’t have airsoft as a kid and BB guns made things more “real” then when we used cap guns. Sim rounds hurt like a sumbich and will penetrate, as you mentioned. BB’s generally never penetrated clothing but damn if you were in a short sleeve shirt, shorts or got hit in the neck. Still dings enough to elicit a cuss word or at least an “ouch”. The good old days

  7. Great gun for a kid. If a cop shoots someone hang the cop unless the kid shoots the cop in the eye and even then you’ll know it’s not real. Sad though that kids can be g real guns to school at the high school firing range.

Law enforcement should agree if not why they work is beyond me

  8. Thomas Madere says:

I bought a similar Glock 19 BB pistol. I shoot in my garage. I use a cardboard box stuffed with towels as a back stop . I can reclaim the BB’s and need to buy CO2 cartridges. It fits most of my G 19 holsters. I shoot it almost daily and it has helped my shooting when I go to the range about twice a month.
I was shot as a kid with a good old Daisy BB gun in BB wars.

    • Liam Athias Babington says:

Good idea that…..putting towels behind for training as a back stop never thought of that! While a BB gun does not replace actual real steel, when focusing on skills its perfect for training. I just wonder when it will be available!!

    Thanks for this
