We’ve been getting a few questions about how to subscribe to our RSS feed. It couldn’t be simpler.
1) Visit www.soldiersystems.net/feed. It’ll look like this:
2) Subscribe to the feed using the dropdown menu. You can utilize Live Bookmarks, Microsoft Outlook, or any other program which supports RSS feeds.
3) Alternatively, a number of web services also allow for subscription to an RSS feed. Just search ‘RSS Reader’ or a similar term in your search engine of choice and work from there. Usually, with online services you’ll simply have to provide the website for the feed to pull from, which in this case would be www.soldiersystems.net.
4) Enjoy your new subscription to the SSD RSS feed!
If you have any more questions, feel free to post them in the comments section and we’ll see what we can do to help you.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t work with at least some new browsers anymore. For example, Firefox got its built-in RSS XML handling feature removed last year. This is the official article from developers with several solutions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/feed-reader-replacements-firefox
RSS technology became less popular over the last years and a lot of companies have discontinued the support of it in their software as well as websites. Now, users expect a mobile app for everything.
Been following SSD for years with Feedly, which works perfectly well with Firefox and other browsers.
Same here, daily does via Feedly, once in a while I hit the website first, but otherwise its usually Feedly.
+1 for Feedly.
These are browser specific instructions. Unfortunately there’s no way to generically explain how RSS works.
Any idea if this will work with the latest iOS? The curated Apple news feeds seem to be difficult to find anything worth reading. I miis the good ole days of Flipbook for iOS
