The Silent Warrior Foundation is conducting it’s annual fund raiser this Friday. The event consists of a cocktail and hors d’ourves hour, banquet dinner, online auction and presentation of the Novemebr 21, 1970 Raid on the Son Tay Prison Camp in North Vietnam to attempt to rescue up to 70 American Prisoners of War. Several Son Tay Raiders and former POW’s will be participating. The film producers of the upcoming documentary “Kingpin- 27 Minutes at Son Tay” will also be filming various segments at the event for their production.
While the event is sold out the online auction is open to all. Auction items include but are not limited to the following items:
• “Baby Barbara”, a slightly smaller recreation of the original CIA made Son Tay Raid planning diorama “Barbara”.
• Rifle and training/experience packages. These include weapon clones of original Raider rifles, with training by SOF veterans and flights to and from the training range in Maricopa, AZ on a Dillon Aero Huey helicopter on November 21, 2020 – the 50th Anniversary of the Son Tay Raid. All ammunition is provided and several soon to be revealed exciting additions to the package will make these two opportunities a once in a lifetime experience.
• A Son Tay Raid Commemortive Caspian 1911 Commander in .45 ACP personally built by Bill Laughridge of Cylinder & Slide. Custom holster by Desert Gun Leather included.
