CMC Triggers Announces the Release of the KRAGOS Glock Aftermarket Slide

Fort Worth, Texas: CMC Triggers’ new KRAGOS™ Glock® compatible slide symbolizes victory and strength, much like that of the Greek God in which the name was inspired. The KRAGOS™ Slide solidifies CMC’s reputation for producing premium aftermarket Glock® parts and accessories. The aggressively sleek design and enhanced aesthetics of the KRAGOS™ improve accuracy and performance without sacrificing reliability or concealment.

The KRAGOS™ is manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility to tighter tolerances than factory slides for increased consistency in barrel lockup, improving accuracy.

Constructed from 17-4 stainless-steel billet, CMC’s KRAGOS™ Glock® Slides are then heat-treated to H900 42-44RC and coated with a Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) finish for added corrosion resistance and durability. DLC coatings exhibit a desirable combination of low coefficient friction and high micro-hardness, making it the perfect upgrade in high wear applications.

The KRAGOS™ features a wraparound scalloped serration pattern that improves grip while manipulating the slide, like press checking the chamber or clearing a malfunction.

The 45-degree chamfer edge eases holster ingress and egress, preventing snags on gear. All slides come with standard Glock® sight cuts equipped with tritium night sights and pre-cut optic pocket for the easy, secure, low-profile mounting that accommodates all red dot pistol optics that share an RMR® footprint.

The KRAGOS™ Slide accepts factory or aftermarket barrels and parts, is the ideal upgrade for your factory Gen 3 Glock® 17 or Glock® 19 pistols and pairs nicely with Polymer 80 frames for new custom gun builds.

I found out about these early and picked one up. This isn’t really a review site, but here are my thoughts.

The machine work is super clean, both on the outside, as well as on the inside where the parts interface. Rail sections are very smooth, both by eye, tool and feel. The reverse serrations give good grip, and there is a covered optic mounting slot which blends in nicely.

The XS night sights have that nice bright orange circle which wraps around the tritium front vial. Maybe I’m just getting old, but that is a large help to my eyes while shooting.

The slide is hardened Stainless Steel with a black Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) finish which I would expect to be very durable and solvent resistant.

The cons for this is that the slide fits Gen 1-3 Glock receivers. From what I’ve seen with similar items, the Gen 4 receiver will fit if you want to chop up then reinforce the front end, but I’m not seeing that as something most will want to do. While the price on this slide is less than some, it still isn’t dirt kicker cheap by any stretch.

My CMC Kragos slide is going on a Polymer 80 G17 frame, which I figure will run as flawless as the G19 I built up on a P80 frame.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask or email me (stickgunner@yahoo.com). If your question is if I got paid to write this, the answer is no, but I do know people who know the CMC crew, and they helped me get my slide.

I appreciate the review Stickman. Did you get the opportunity to conceal the pistol for a full day (or comparable time)? I have found that these exaggerated serrations are very uncomfortable for carry. Thanks!

      Thanks!

  2. Alpha2 says:

It’s a decent looking slide, definite plus for not chopping it up with damn windows but I could really do without the giant KRAGOS billboard plastered on it.

  3. Jack Griffin says:

Too bad about the giant hideous nonsense word logo on the side.

Somebody should really talk to companies about that tactic.

The Mountain Dew approach repels a lot of people.

Hear hear. Especially for those that see this as a good option for duty use.

      +1

This billboard mania is just as bad as with custom M1911. Without the big KRAGOS on the slide I think this would make for an actual practical improvement over the original Glock slide. Not too aggressive serrations and good sights and an optics mount. But imagine pulling this gaudy billboard out on duty. Are mammoth ivory or pearl grips avaiable for Glocks to fit the tacky style of thisengraving?
