Shadow Systems Releases Full Size Pistol, Ready for Duty

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

Plano, TX (January, 2021) – Shadow Systems, the American manufacturer of the MR920 and MR920L has released its much-anticipated full size production pistol, the DR920. The Duty-Role 9mm, DR920, was created to be a working gun, fit for law enforcement, military, or anyone who prefers a larger frame and full length top end.

The full size frame of the DR920 incorporates the features found on its compact sibling, including interchangeable backstraps that fundamentally change the grip angle, allowing the pistol to be adjusted to fit the shooter’s natural point of aim. Aggressive grip texture fully wraps the frame and the “recoil control ledge,” a feature which gives the support-hand thumb a place to firmly engage the frame. The extended beavertail and double undercut allow the shooter to get an especially high grip on the pistol, for unmatched controllability. These frame features combine to make the DR920 an exceptionally flat shooter, with very little recoil.

The full length DR920 slides are designed for manipulation under stress, with directional serrations in front and rear, as well as topside serrations on Elite models. The slide has a thin profile at key grasping locations, making handling even easier. Shadow Systems’ patent pending optic cut allows for most brands of red-dot optic to be mounted directly to the slide, for the lowest and strongest multi-footprint optic mount. The optic cut is a standard feature of Elite models and is available as an option on Combat models. The DR920 features a match-grade, spiral-fluted barrel coated in bronze TiCN or black nitride. The barrels are available unthreaded or threaded, for those who want to install a muzzle device.

The DR920 is equipped with a drop-safe, flat-faced aluminum trigger. The trigger has a smooth uptake, a 4.5-5.0 pound trigger pull, and a crisp, tactile reset.

Weighing in at just 23 ounces, the DR920 is one of the more lightweight 17+1-capacity options on the market, making concealed carry possible. Continuing Shadow’s tradition of making pistols that do not require new gear, the DR920 is compatible with most holsters designed to fit a G17.

For Law Enforcement Agencies and Military Units wanting to bring the DR920, or any Shadow Systems pistol, into duty use, Shadow Systems has recently launched a new website, shadowsystemsdefense.com. The new site makes requesting a gun for testing and evaluation as simple as four clicks. Shadow Systems has a dedicated Defense Team who will work directly with departmental decision makers to provide the right duty weapons for officers and servicemembers. Shadow Systems is proud to already have their pistols being used in a duty capacity at departments throughout the U.S.. Later in the year, shadowsystemsdefense.com will also be the home of the upcoming individual first responder purchase program, which will be available through local retailers.

The DR920 is designed and wholly manufactured in the United States, with American labor and materials. The Shadow Systems team comprises former law enforcement officers, members of the military, and competitive shooters. The team’s diverse background contributes to Shadow Systems’ unique design philosophy of building pistols with features based on real-world shooting experience. Every Shadow Systems pistol is designed to be highly reliable and easy to shoot well right out of the box. The reliability of their pistols is supported by a highly engaged customer service team that is often regarded as the most attentive in the industry.
