We are seeking an experienced former end-user to manage business development and sales growth with a focus on the United States Army. The duties include establishing relationships with the customer base, determining and shaping requirements, and promoting and selling Optics1 products. This is an opportunity for a former service member/end-user to transition into a civilian business development role.  Optics 1 products include fully integrated multi-function day/night & thermal targeting systems as well as orientation and situational awareness products.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for sales growth in the US Army, military and government segment.

• Sell fully integrated, multi-function day night and thermal products

• Market range finder products along with innovative solutions for military critical needs.

• Generate new business opportunities and manage existing accounts as directed.

• Achieve targeted sales growth goals

• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of customer program requirements, current and future opportunities, production schedules, organizational structure and key decision-makers in the military and prime customers.

• Develop and maintain strong credibility and customer service reputation with product end-users.

• Contact all military and prime customers with potential interests in infrared, thermal imaging, and orientation products

• Understand and clearly articulate Optics 1 value proposition

• Identify and understand current operational missions, gaps, and roadmaps within the military

• Provide strategic roadmaps that match, enhance, company products or require development solutions

• Articulate product needs to product development and executive staff as required.

• Prepare and conduct senior level technical presentations to end users, PEO’s, PM’s and senior military staff

• Provide field support by providing comprehensive trainings for users and maintenance technicians.

• Conduct and lead advanced product demonstrations to end user’s, PEO’s, PM’s and senior military staff

• Submit market intelligence from customer, contacts, publications etc. concerning competition, new product ideas, pricing, industry trends and customer attitudes.

• Coordinate and manage delivery issues with Program Management and executive staff.

• Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.

• Be a subject matter expert of all Optics 1 solutions and their use in practical business settings

• Prepare and manage quotations and work with contracts staff to insure terms and conditions are acceptable to Optics 1

• Participate in capture pursuits, understand price to win and competitive analysis to increase win probability

• Travel up to 50% including both and international 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• B.S. degree in a technical discipline 

• Ability to  and sell to all levels of an organization including the executive level.

• Ability to manage multiple deadline driven projects involving a variety of different resources.

• Ability to interface with company team members in a fast-paced, multi-discipline environment, including program managers, engineers, and leadership

• Potential to execute new business capture efforts, including customer/opportunity identification, quote generation, sales administration through contract execution.

• Must be able to participate and take ownership in the company’s annual business development/sales plan, which includes developing and meeting forecasts.

• Must possess an in-depth knowledge of the dismounted warfighter electro-optics market, including key customers and competitive landscape.

• Demonstrated comfort level in a customer-facing role developing accounts both technically & non-technically with emphasis on customer specific requirements.

• Solid understanding of military budgeting and acquisition processes

• Demonstrated potential to sell electro-optics products to a diverse military customer community.

• Proven work and or industry experience within the military community, specifically US Army.

• Experience in the electro-optics business area as an end-user of these products or in a business development role marketing and selling these products to military organizations.

• Recent prior military service, with preference for US Army Combat Arms or USASOC leadership role.

• Requires U.S. Citizenship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working in an ITAR environment

• Current security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance at the SECRET level

COMPUTER SKILLS:  

• Understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Project and Excel.

Work Environment:

• While performing the aforementioned job duties, the employee mainly works in a professional office setting that is relatively quiet and has temperature control systems.

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.

• This role will occasionally require product demonstrations in a range/outdoor setting.
