It just dawned on me as I left main exchange these stores in the mini-mall area sell tactical gear. Holy crap, I never realized they are part of AAFES and not sure why clothing sales has stores 10 feet away that sell same stuff at overpriced rates. Am I missing something ?
These guys are not actually part of AAFES. Something like rev share contracts, but AAFES tells them what they can’t sell. It was explained to me that AAFES is the mafia. They own the bases and takes a piece of everything from everyone else, by forcing people to pay to be on base and give up a piece of total sales to them. Essentially no different than the school yard bully making kids cough up lunch money.
