The Business Development Manager is responsible for business development and sales growth in the military and government segment with primary focus on promoting and selling innovative solutions for military critical needs and fully integrated multi-function day night & thermal, and orientation products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary duties include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for Business Development of Optics 1 products and capabilities to the US Army and USMC.
• Identify and understand current operational missions, gaps, and roadmaps within the US Army and USMC.
• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of customer program requirements, current and future opportunities, organizational structure and key decision-makers in the US Army and USMC.
• Lead capture pursuits; understand price to win and competitive analysis to increase win probability.
• Prepare and conduct senior level presentations and demonstrations to PEO’s, PM’s and senior military staff.
• Sell fully integrated, multi-function day-night observation and targeting systems, night vision products, rangefinders and inertial navigation solutions.
• Knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
• Provide strategic roadmaps that match and enhance Optics 1 product portfolio.
• Articulate product needs to product development and executive staff as required.
• Achieve targeted sales growth goals.
• Be a subject matter expert of all Optics 1 solutions.
• Understand and clearly articulate Optics 1 value proposition.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Proven work and or industry experience within the military community, specifically acquisition offices for the US Army at Ft Belvoir and USMC at Quantico
• Thorough understanding and familiarity of military acquisition processes

• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the electro-optics business area with a strong background in marketing and selling to the US Army and USMC
• Proven track record in making and meeting forecasts.
• Prior military service
• Requires U.S. Citizenship
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working in an ITAR environment
EDUCATION:
• Technical B.S. degree is desired but can be substituted with proven skills in marketing and selling technical products in the past.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Fluency in the English Language is required.
• Knowledge of French and / or German Language a “plus”.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Project and Excel.
TRAVEL:
• Up to 50% travel required
