Earlier this year Safran purchased Orilia, a business which specializes in resilient positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) among other things. One of those other things is Emergency Locator Beacons like this one for Search and Rescue they showed me at AUSA.
It’s a simple device that transits the location once turned on via the integrated tape-style antenna which stores wrapped around the device. It also resists GPS jamming and spoofing for high confidence of isolated personnel location.
