Defense Distributed – Serial Covers

Defense Distributed bills their Serial Covers as “The solution to maintaining privacy while still looking cool.”

You get three segments of 3M-backed self-adhesive Cordura material to prevent your serial numbers from being easily visible and traceable, particularly when posting photos online. Offered in multiple colors amd patterns, the shapes were
configured around a Mil-Spec M4 lower receiver.

Available from defensedistributors.com but of course, you could do this yourself. However, if you buy them Defense Distributors you support their development of other products.

A solution looking for a problem?

Gaffers tape in black or tan works for me when worried about S/N exposure.

And Gaffers tape has 1001 other uses as well!

    • Mike says:

I use gaffers tape for the same thing, but I don’t see a problem with this. If the adhesive is strong enough, this’ll probably last a lot longer than gaffers tape.

    • SSD says:

You mean 90-mile-an-hour tape, or LAPES tape?

  2. Clever product and it will be great for social media posters who are proud of their rifles, but cautious with eagle eyed,

So, in other words you are selling Tactical Gaffers TAPE!
    GTFOH!

Interesting “solution” for sure. I do love unbridled capitalism.

You know how I get around this issue? I don’t post photos of my guns online! Problem solved!
