Every Gerber product has a story to tell. The story of the Gerber LMF II is one of resilience and resourcefulness. This knife is rugged and versatile, with a partially serrated blade that is a full 3/16” thick. The MOLLE-compatible sheath includes a built-in blade sharpener. The American-made LMF II was originally designed to free aircrew from a downed aircraft and is tough enough to cut through the fuselage while being smart enough to ensure you are safe while doing so. The knife has a purposeful break between the tang and the striking pommel, providing insulated protection against stray wires and absorbing any shock from hammering. This Gerber rescue/survival knife is now the reference product under legacy NSN 7340-00-098-4327 and is backed by Gerber’s lifetime warranty.

Exploration defines the American experience-defying odds, pressing onward, and defining innovation. Local ingenuity and American spirit collide within these walls where iconic products are born, tested, and shipped worldwide. Gerber guarantees everything they make, because they know you seek value and durability in the gear you choose to carry.

The double down surprises me. It’s an innovative and durable tool, but it’s got some usability issues when chopping. Would make sure to wear some good gloves.
