In case anyone was wondering, “German Precision Optic” (in the US) is a subsidiary of GPO, GmbH.
And yes, their optics are entirely made in China (but designed in Germany)
That’s a bummer
Their FAQ says components are sourced from Japan, Germany and the Philippines with assembly in other countries including China. If I’m interpreting that correctly then it means the cheaper stuff is Filipino glass like the Vortex Viper and Primary Arms GLX series, but with Chinese assembly. So if you’re trying to de-China your exercise of freedom then it’s a no-go, but if it’s about not having cheapo Chinese glass you might be alright buying GPO.
Man, their CENTURI 3-12x44i Super Compact looks like the ideal MPVO but for the stupid reticle.
