Peter Kuran had an impressive career in visual effects throughout the 70s and 80s, but I’d argue he’s done more for atomic history since the 90s. He worked hard to get a lot of nuclear testing footage declassified, documented much of the secretive history of American atmospheric nuclear testing, recorded many of the Lookout Mountain cameramen from that era for posterity, and continues to restore old nuclear test footage.
