Rheinmetall displayed their Skyranger 762 Ultra Short Range Air Defense Remote Weapon Station (U-SHORAD RWS) mounted to a US Army Infantry Squad Vehicle Cargo variant made by GMC.

The system combines the Echodyne EchoShield radar with two 7.62mm M134D Miniguns mounted on the Fieldranger Multi Remote Combat Weapon System to go after unmanned aerial systems, in particular small drones (NATO Class I) and lightly armored ground vehicles in a pinch.

The Halo Warthog Lives!!!
Looks more like a puma to me. Or maybe one of those chupa-thingies. LOL!
Is it just me or are all of the light tactical vehicles rolling out have the same performance, same size and same payload as the WWII Willies Jeep but cost ten time as much?
Well, name something that doesn’t. They’re way more capable – better suspension, more road capable, more payload, power to the road and electrical. You also have to understand that the capability too produce a lot of things is based on the manufacturing base as a whole – we make and drive complicated stuff and that jeep kind of simplicity is actually very hard and expensive to do today( see Ineos Grenadier for an example).
This is the size of a modern midsize pickup truck. Its built off the Chevy Colorado. For something the size of a WW2 Jeep you would be looking at something like the MRZR.
Yes, IFV carries 9 Soldiers, an entire Squad.
We’ll end up with miniaturized CIWS/CRAM as part of the layered CUAS defense. Would these systems benefit from using an SRTA type of ammunition?
Several companies are working on the miniature RWS and ammunition for this role.
its excellent as your other articles : D, thankyou for posting.
