Fear not current Glock owners! Glock is loyal to its customers and has stated they will continue to service discontinued models.

Although Glock hasn’t said what is coming next, internal discussions among distributors indicate that current stocks will stop shipping on 30 November (exempt are 43X/43X MOS/48/ 48MOS) with new V series shipments resuming in December 2025. Pricing will remain consistent with current Gen 5 models.

Changes to V series are said to include internal slide and trigger improvements and current Glock Performance triggers will not function in V pistols.

Glock is playing it cool and issued this statement:

“In order to focus on the products that will drive future innovation and growth, we are making a strategic decision to reduce our current commercial portfolio. This streamlined approach allows us to concentrate on continuing to deliver the highest-quality and most relevant solutions for the market.”

However, it is believed that the changes are in response to legislation and legal action taken against Glock by various states because pistols equipped with “cruciform triggers” can be modified to fire fully automatic by installing a “Glock switch” which is sold over the internet and has been used increasingly by criminals.

Update: Glock released this image to clarify which models will join the V series.

Barn door open. Cows gone. And for a long time too.

  2. mark says:

-None of the normal 9mm pistols people buy are MOS.
    -G17 is back
-No G47 despite its rising popularity
-2 models of G23 .40, the only gun to get a MOS and non MOS – whose buying G23’s these days?
-No G22 .40, the model I’d assume people would want if they were going .40
-Continue to be sad about loss of the G34.

I assume there’s already shipping containers full of switches for the V sitting on docks in China ready to ship.

Also, I’m hoping this is a full Gen 6 overhaul and not a Gen 5.5.
Releasing any new guns without factory optics cut is absurd.

I have been a Glock fan boy for a while now. After bending over to political pressure, I hope Glock gets out-Glocked by gen 3 Glockoffs.

  5. mike says:

this feels like Bill Ruger limiting firearm and magazine sales in the leadup to the 94AWB in an attempt to kiss ass and secure contracts. I think this will similarly blow up in Glock’s face, despite the stated purpose.

As we all know the mountain of Glocks, Glock clones, and the absolute glut of aftermarket Glock compatible slides that can ship to your door will keep the criminal flush with switch-compatible and FRT-compatible pistols for quite some time.
