Boo that short! Why, oh why, the trend to lengthen shorts, oh why??
Get the green one and get my wife to hem them. Still have a couple prs of tacticool fathers day pants that need heming.
Well boo on you sir, I’d buy these if they were that length to begin with in multicam! Looks like a great product
I’m sorry, did I attack you? Maybe it’s not as hot where you are, but every last bit of airflow I can get, I appreciate.
Haha no, you didn’t attack me, just my opinion so logically, *interweb wars*
I live in AZ and constantly use the vertx kryptek typhoon shorts. While nice, I don’t like it always riding up past my knees. Speaking of airflow, I also got their pants with the mesh linings…not bad, but nowhere near as good as shorts…
Still really want to try these.
I can deal with either length just ditch the 70’s side split.
I’d buy them!
Winning.
Keep ’em short, keep them cool and functional.
Take my money already!
Being long legged I will take shorts as long as I can get them, preferably in the 11″ range. Can’t stand the daisy duke looking things.
I kinda prefer the homage to the UDT shorts of the shorter ones vice the “I got these at Old Navy” of the longer ones.
Anybody can snip off a pair of BDU/ACUs/MCCUU trousers if they want some long shorts.
There are only two inches of difference between these two versions. If you think the current model are like UDT shorts you’ve never actually worn a pair of UDTs.
I’m not saying they’re close to UDTs since unless you’re a John Holmes, there’s very little chance of the franks and beans hanging out of these in either length. I unscientifically surmise the longer length may work better with drop-leg holsters, however.
Who still wears drop leg holsters?
The answer is “too many folks.”
With shorts?
I sometimes wear a MOJO Drop-Leg Pouch with BLS supplies with these shorts.

But you’re definitely right, drop-legs have limited use.
I’m stoked about the Ranger Green color, but I wish they kept the short length. I might pick a pair up and hem them as suggested by Bradkaf308. Sky’s Out, Thigh’s Out.
The slit just gives them a feminine look. You are hard pressed outside of Ranger panties or mens running specific shorts to find another pair of mens shorts with a side slit. Its kinda like how womens shirts button backwards from a mans.
That’s the “don’t buy them then” clue. Seriously, I realize that Walmart doesn’t sell shorts like these but the slit was put there for a reason, just like on other shorts that have them.
The slit is functional. UDT Shorts would be improved to have this slit.
My balls agree.
Nice to see more colors coming out. As some others have said, hopefully they make the original length in green as well.
These are easily my favorite shorts along with the SOD Gear Short Pants 01.
