Now we just need a 24v version with a NATO slave cable adapter…

Is this going to be one of those Wi-Fi enabled “you can only use our band of cups while your in the sticks” kind of coffee maker ? I would hate to get punked while I’m in the middle no-where cause I brought the wrong brand of cups. I’m telling you shift would hit the fan! God forbid we should have to resort back to beans, a grinder and a pot over the fire.

    I’ll stay with my jetboil….

Interesting to note that the inventor of K-Cups regrets his original design, due to the sheer amount of waste it creates:

They discontinued, then brought back, the reusable cup. It lets you put whatever grounds you prefer through the machine.

Sidenote, they discontinued the reusable cup, and added a DRM feature to keep you using their cups. Customer backlash and simple hacks made the concept disappear quickly. The inventor may regret the design, but corporate is tripping over their dicks with greed with this failed attempt to keep you buying official Keurig cups.

If I recall correctly, didn’t this get it’s start via a Kickstarter fund raiser?

K-Cups for when you absolutely, positively hate both nature & your money.

I would have killed for this in afghanistan. We killed multiple coffee pots bouncing around in the back of our truck. If this thing could accept regular coffee i would buy two.

I don’t even drink coffee, but I can see every S-shop and company staff group having one of these in their quad-con

Hell, I can see that thing in anything larger than a foxhole, or LP/OP, if it’s large enough to have a name then it’s probably going to have one. Depending on what powers it I could see one in a number of people’s HMMWVs or even armored vehicles like :LAVs, Bradlesy, and maybe even tanks. All it need for military use is to be in a color other than zombie green, paint it OD, black, or coyote and it would be ready for field use.

Whatever happened to filling a thermos up with coffee, before going to work?

  11. Kevin says:

Now if only one could find K-cups that produce drinkable espresso.

    • Strike-Hold says:

A field-deployable, ruggedized espresso machine? THAT would kick ass. 😉

I just eat the beans. that way it cuts out the all the expense and you can enjoy the yummy taste for two days as your trying to get the ground up beans out of your teeth. Sadly, my wife put me on restriction because she said “It makes you too aggressive and you embarrassed me to death! =( LOL!!

  12. Brett says:

Would be the shiznat if it had it’s own internal water filtration system.

Needs to be dual voltage 120/220 or it’s going to be fried.

Was a time as a rookie in charge of coffee in the green machine, the NCO Maffia would have trade even ammos for such beauty…i still heard a The Rock shape body S/Sgt from Wallis et futuna “vanilla coffee for me Speedy four”…
