Another 4-6 optional (attached via ITW G-hook or smth.) compression straps that you can use to sinch it down when it is half-packed in the extended state would make it even better. Waiting forward to that.

That’s a D3CR Heavy, both items are compatible.

Don’t know why it took them so long to make this ‘official’. When I got the flatpack I simply routed the D3 waist strap through the MOLLE straps and came out with virtually the same solution.

My D3 works great hooked up to my Eagle Yote. A little more capacity than the Flatpack.

I know this isn’t forum but I always wondered what’s the exact purpose of these kind of flatpacks. You know, attaching to plate carrier things. They looks they ain’t gonna hold any solid objects. I wonder what you can fill it with.
I suppose it’s something like compressed, stabilized buttpack or to shove up some spare mags, right?

Its usually for hydration bladders, emergency food, a shell jacket, and random crap dictated by the mission.

It’s definitely for more minimal packing needs. I find that small (flat) packs like these serve well in close indoor situations where a larger pack might have issues with doorways and snagging on things, or if the user is in and out of a vehicle a great deal of the time. (Big enough to still carry a little, but small enough to not provide a huge void of space behind the driver/passenger.)

I’ve used it to only carry my range items so far to eliminate an extra bag. I’ve fit 10x Pmags loaded, Peltor ear-pro, 3x pistol mags, staple gun, 2-3 boxes of pistol ammo, lube, multitool, and small IFAK. I was impressed considering I bought it to sit under my aid bag for just wet weather gear and MREs.

These expand out via the zippers along the edges (similar to some luggage systems), increases capacity to match a 24 hour pack.

I do this with my Grey Ghost Gear Lightweight Assault Pack and a Mayflower GenV Splitfront and I couldn’t be happier with the setup.

    • mike says:

That said I’ve been eyeing the hell out of a Flat Pack to work into the setup with my D3CR or WTF Split Front!

    • Jon, OPT says:

In 2013 I did it with a prototype of the Gen V vest, and the Mayflower 24 hour assault pack, it worked out really well.
