Hold on, getting my popcorn. Dis gon be gud.

  2. Bill says:

A Haley and a Costa post back to back. Kinda feels like 2008.

  3. Regardless what you think of the man, he’s making money doing what he loves; maybe thise who bitch should put more effort into that pursuit.

    • mike says:

Hear, hear. One of the things I look for in people is how they treat those who can do nothing for them. Chris Costa is fine by me and more power to him for entertaining the Japanese and acting as an ambassador of gun culture. Moreover he knows how to be serious without scaring/threatening the squares. That’s something we could use more of in *this* country as well.

  4. CRH says:

Airsoft, is perfect for him! Playing make believe just like he does on the flat range!

    • Thomas says:

Costa has been there and done that. Quit being an a**hat. Good for Costa. I hope you continue to have an awesome life!

      • Dynamic Realism says:

Just curious where is there and what is that? Context and all you know. Did you mean Japan?

        • Thomas says:

Costa served his Country. He was also part of a pretty elite Law Enforcement team in the Coast Guard. Costa is a good business man and a good American to boot.

Shut the f**k up already. Let Costa be Costa. Costa is still on my bucket list of trainers.

  5. Mike R says:

Until I can out shoot him, I’ll avoid talking trash.

    • Haji says:

I know a lot of guys that can shoot at his level or beyond. What they have in common is that they don’t trash talk Costa either. There’s a lot of wisdom in your comment, Mike.

  6. Daniel says:

I don’t understand what the big deal is here. What is wrong with Costa reaching out the the Japanese? Are we going to blame the average Japanese citizen for only having access to airsoft as a way to express their interest in firearms while we are at it too?

    • jellydonut says:

All you need to do is go on a forum where people are overly attached to expensive nylon gear and you’ll find that.

  7. contractor says:

People feel bad because in some way it delegitimizes the money they spent on his classes.

I prefer the instructors at Academi/TC anyway. I don’t think I’m Costa’s target audience though.

    • Kurt says:

Which Academi/TC Instructors are your preference ?

    • Thomas says:

How does it de-legitimize time in a Costa class? The LAV and Haley are both spoken fondly of airsoft. Does that take away from their accomplishments?

  8. bluenoser says:

Let’s all remember his well reasoned, respectable response after last year.

May the man enjoy his trip and keep living his life.

  9. Kurt says:

I am thinking the only thing left is for him to release a cologne line.

    🙂

  10. Joshz says:

    Is he big over there?

  11. Andrew says:

Can’t blame him for the hustle… Got to pay for that badass Pam on his wrist!

    • mike says:

Psh, you can get one for under 6K if you look around. It’s not even one of the fancy ones.

      /all of the sarcasm

    • Miclo18d says:

Sure you meant Pan as in Panerai. I have one on my wrist.

I have no skin in this game and as far as Costas street creds, Not much to go on there, but I begrudge no man as long as he doesn’t lie about his creds.

That said when a black man is successful (not as a rapper or baller) all the folks in the hood begrudge him/her for sucking up to whitey’s world. Jealousy.

Make sure you don’t hate Costa just because you’re jealous. If his tactics are not sound or he lies about being a door kicker in A-Stan/Iraq then let him have it.

      • Andrew says:

No I meant Pam, yes as in Panerai. That is the common nick-name for them in the watch community, as that is what all of their model numbers start with. It means PAnerai Model = PAM.

  12. Phargus says:

My guess is he can out-shoot about 99% of the people who talk trash about him behind a keyboard.

  13. "Bob" says:

Gee darn, it’s a real shame I’ll miss the “Platinum Secret Game” on day 1.

On one hand, I can’t take him seriously at all. On the other, I’m not making nearly as much money as he’s going to over a few days.

  14. Matt says:

Is it me or is he starting to look more and more like “the most interesting man in the world” more and more each day? Next thing ya know he is going to be spouting off with “keep your arm straight, my friend.”

  15. CJ says:

    Turn down for what!!!?!?

    loved that video

  16. bloke_from_ohio says:

The Japanese market for the game is huge and Costa is a giant in that arena. Honestly, if a game like that was local to me I would dust off and repair my old kit and go. The production value for the event would likely be phenomenal. As long as you treat it like the game it is, an even like that would be an awesome time.

I used to play so called “Milsim” airsoft in college with my buddies from school. It was fun and I enjoyed it. In the community I played with, our serious “mall ninja” population was probably less than 10%. Even our most ardent “geardos” knew they were just playing dress up. Those who could not separate fantasy from reality usually had sportsmanship or safety problems to go along with their delusion and were weeded out by the community.

Playing airsoft is not training. You could use an airsoft replica as a training tool or a prop, but you can also use, MILEs, paintball, simmunitions, rubber duckies, or a 2×4. Outside the equipment’s possible use as a training tool, airsoft is just a game. Some like to pretend that the potential for using airsoft replicas as a legitimate training tool makes playing the game of airsoft legitimate training. But most people know better.

    • Bill says:

Whatever training your doing with a 2 x4, I hope it isn’t impact weapons, and I want no part or it. Are there nails stuck in it? 😉

Don’t know the guy, never took any of his classes, but after supervising and developing basic and up LE training programs I discovered the value of edutainment.

  17. Rugrash says:

Good excuse to get some effin awesome sushi!

  18. Mike Nomad says:

Looks like they dropped the bondage-laced after party…

  19. Stickman says:

What else does anyone need to know besides him getting paid? I don’t know any instructors who teach classes for a living and do it for free.

Out of the dozen or so best known instructors, how many will still be doing it 5 years from now? It is a finite game, and publicity is a fickle mistress.

Use it while you got it.
