AMABILIS Iconic Load Haulers

I’ve known Brian Abrams since 1991 and I’ve been buying his products ever since. He’s a great outdoorsman, athelete and designer. I was also friends with Brian’s best friend and business partner Dave Ruiz who was taken away from us way before his time. Make sure you check out Brian’s new stuff, incluidng this bag, that honors Dave.

ENUMCLAW, Washington – AMABILIS, a new entry to performance driven apparel and load hauling solutions, is headed by tactical/military industry veteran Brian Abrams. Abrams gained recognition for innovative design while at Adventure Tech, a company he founded in 1991 and sold in 2007. His products were widely used throughout the Spec Op community and a few of his more noteworthy designs include the Marine Corps IWCS (Inclement Weather Combat Shirt and 3SSS(3 Season Sleep System).

In keeping with this heritage, Abrams recently launched AMABILIS, a lifestyle brand anchored in authenticity and inspired by Dave Ruiz, a former Marine and Abrams’ best friend and business partner who passed away unexpectedly in 2012. First to hit the market is their modern re-make of the iconic classic military duffel bag, appropriately named “The Dave” Duffel.

The Dave and Dave Jr (smaller version) pays homage to the standard issue military duffel with it’s cylindrical shape and unique 4-way folding end panel closure system complete with mil-spec metal hardware. That however is where the similarities end and The Dave takes it’s refined, fashion forward good looks and bombproof durability to another level.

Good luck to Brian with this company, Adventure Tech made some really great stuff.

So what do we put in checkout to indicate that we came from soldier systems?

Love the remake. Only thing is why would I lock up something that can simply be unzipped? Only shortcoming that made me lose interest.
