The First Ever Q Giveaway

Last Friday night Kevin Brittingham hosted an open house in Portsmouth, New Hampshire for his new company Q.  Naturally, we were there. The facility is really cool and we’ll share our impressions soon.  But in the meantime, we picked up some swag to give away to a lucky SSD reader.

There’s a T-shirt (XL slim fit), Ball Cap, Small and Large Stickers and Can Cozie.

If you want to win this pile of awesome just follow these rules:

1. In the comments section of THIS, and only THIS, article on SSD, share what product you’d like to see Q develop. Only entries here are eligible to win.

2. Comments are open from now until 2359 Zulu on 29 March 2016 (that’s this Tuesday).

3. Use any alias you want to post but be sure to use a valid email address since that’s how we’ll contact the winner.

A cheap stock (under 200$) for the G36, telescopic, folding and with regulable cheekpiece.

  2. Carlo says:

I’d like to see more accessories specific to the Sig MPX

  3. CHOKESLAM! says:

So now that Kevin has unfettered freedom to do whatever the hell he wants, let’s see it…what’s his true Platonic ideal of a suppressor? Was the Sig line of suppressors the truest expression of that idea?

No matter what, will be exciting to see what comes down the pipe. Good luck to everyone at Q.

  4. bob says:

    Anything in Ti.

  5. Martin says:

A comped pistol with decent stopping power and seriously mitigated recoil for my lady that won’t tear her hands off when she shoots it that can be easily concealed.

  6. Mike Sheppard says:

I’d like to finally see a weapon retention system for a primary/long gun that is stupid simple for going hands on; whether it be rig or kit mounted. I personally have a few concepts but can’t afford to patent or produce at this time. A piece of equipment that would SECURELY keep your primary free from the work space, yet easy to transition back to your primary system.

  7. JS says:

I’d like to see cans….of course and maybe some rail systems.

  8. Dave says:

Multi rated .30 can – swappable end caps – modular to run full length or reduce OAL when required

  9. Destro says:

A suppressor that can do .45 acp and 7.62

  10. james says:

how about an adaptable / universal sling system that you can swap between long guns easily without rube golberging the mounting…

  11. Mountain says:

    Dear Kevingham,

Sigh Lancers. Make sigh lancers. Maybe make tree-dee printed sigh lancers.

    Sincerely,
A fan of the man who stuck it to the big green.

  12. N8 says:

    Lightsaber.

Why is this even a question?

  13. Silence says:

    Make America Great Again.

  14. Pat says:

I would love to see a concept for an every day carry can, somthing that will turn the industry on its ear

  15. Ziggs says:

Giant robots. Giant robots with lasers

  16. J.W. says:

Selfishly I’d like to see a precision-oriented long-range can for 300wm or 6.5cm that has an unquestionable mounting system.

  17. Willis Bee says:

    Q,
Please create cash flow…. good margins to reinvest… and some U.S. jobs

  18. Chucker says:

I’d like to see more products that challenge current NFA laws. How about something that makes the ATF say ” yes, er I mean no. I really don’t know. Stop asking!”?

More development on non-NFA adapters and muzzle brakes.

  19. James says:

How about a rifle/pistol/sbr sized for some of the better pdw cartridges like 6×35,and 5.56×30( might as well go with .221fireball). Would love a super light mpx style gun in 6×35.

  20. Kris says:

A budget friendly suppressor cover would rock!

  21. tcba_joe says:

The aftermarket to make the MCX and P320 as big as the AR and Glock.

Conversely, a truly reliable combat ready 2011 type gun that doesn’t rely on 1911 top ends and takes Glock (or similar modern double stack mags).

  22. Will says:

I’d like to see them develop cheap DMLS cans (think Brevis II), but at the price point Sig is selling their new cans at.

  23. cimg says:

suppressed winner of the Army modular pistol contest

  24. Non-operator says:

Someone already described the concept, but I’d like a lightweight, scalable suppressor that can be used for EVERYTHING – handgun calibers up to 7.62 and everything in between. A qd mounting system that can be applied to this magic suppressor and any and all host weapons is implied; as well as being able to change the length based on suppression level the user wants and length/weight.

  25. DA says:

I think Koozies are a safe place to start, but I’d like to see innovative rail systems and stocks for the AR platform…. And maybe a “legion” of his own.

  26. PETE says:

A skinny subcompact Glock frame ala the Timberwolf built for G26 applications. Allow for creating a G26L.

And a LED RMR type sight that fixes the Trijicon issues – easy battery swap without rezeroing, limited/no optics tint and rapid configurable dot sizes – small for far out and ring/dot for close in – with a quick slap to the sight.

And the swapable, modular suppressor so that meet every need from .22, 9mmto 7.62×51 whiles being light, compact and have numerous attach options. That’s if every other impossibility on the list has already been addressed.

  27. Kramerica says:

Barrels with integrated suppressors- complete guns and drop ins. Finally release the Honey Badger.

  28. Tim says:

I’m on board with the modular suppressor idea already expressed. A true “one-for-all” concept.

  29. Bullets says:

CQB type drop in AR upperwith an integrated suppressor and an overall length that is competitive with 11.5″ standard barrel lengths and still allows for good terminal ballistics. He could sell them to every SWAT team in the country.

  30. Spoxxter says:

I would like to see Q make an integrally suppressed quick change barrels for the MPX and SCAR.

  31. Dellis says:

I don’t know much about silencers but why can’t there be a pistol barrel with dedicated silencer?

  32. A modern take on the XM177 moderator that will be compatible with the M4 PIP whenever it comes out. 🙂

    ( I guess I’m the only one who isn’t for do-all suppressors)

Try to make the snail shell baffle design from the Abakan work.

  33. 18Derp says:

    SBR Centric semi-perm attached can.

30cal, 10oz, 300blk super and 556, don’t even try to be hearing safe because no 556 can is, thought blast baffel but more so a factory module blast baffel system, a retail price that makes it a no brainer.

Encourage the can to be part of the gun, not an accessory. Sell either barrels FOR THAT can, or just encourage adjustable gas blocks.

Make the can so small and light that there is no reason you’d ever pull it off. Hanging 24oz of can on a QD mount from an SBR is stupid. No one shoots unsuppressed anyhow so QD is dumb.

  34. Headache says:

A single stack (thin, light weight) 9mm striker fired handgun with a 4.5 to 5 inch barrel. Something that a person with small hands can use comfortably but retain the muzzle velocities and accuracy of a full size pistol.

  35. Stash says:

I already posted but I came up with another one – a modern, affordable take on the caliber swappable P7 – .22 to .380 to 9mm to .45, suppressible obviously.

  36. Andy says:

I would like to see a can that really turns the industry on it’s ear : 4″ or less, 1.3″ or less, 8oz or less, hearing safe DRY, chambered in 9mm. Basically, the “Hollywood” suppressor.

I think DMLS could make it possible, and I don’t even really care about the pricepoint. 🙂

  37. Everett says:

I’d love to see something different than the standard round cylinder shaped cans. Silencerco has done a few with the asymmetric design, but I’m sure there’s more that could be done. Even if it doesn’t do too much for performance numbers, I’m sure they’d look cool.

  38. Top says:

Buying an MPX after deployment would love to pimp that thing out.

I think the most under rated but best rifle, the VZ58, could use some modernization as well!

  39. shanaynay says:

Silencer with good balance between weight and noise cancellation.

  40. Bryan says:

Should I say “Honey Badger” like rifle in possible pistol caliber.

  41. Hobbs says:

As long as it isn’t just more AR15 and Glock stuff, I’m down for whatever.

  42. EagleEastcoast says:

Modular/scalable and lightweight armor system that “snaps on and off” of the current trend of ATV/side by sides that are being used oconus…think lower body type protection, not enclosing of the occupants.

  43. Brandon says:

    New cans in ti

  44. DaBunch says:

How about some kydex can holders if we can’t get a suppressed 870 barrel

  45. Nico says:

A range of accessories that span the price brackets, by this I mean a range from affordable thru mid range to luxury (and as many stops between) that all have a good level of quality/utility/functionality.

This ensures that a proper cost/benefit decision can be made rather than just a “up-size McDonalds” claytons choice approach.

I want to get away from the “Look at me I brought the most expensive thing, not sure what extra it does but it must be cool”

  46. Dan says:

Something fully welded and extremely durable. That’s the only can if want to buy. Use the best materials, the most advanced manufacturing. Make the most high end premium silencer the market has ever seen.

  47. Ethan says:

I loved what Kevin did for AAC. It would be great to see an integrally suppressed Glock, a hell and back durable fully welded silencer line. Pay no attention to the lightweight fad. People liked the AAC cans not the lightest out there but you could beat them into the ground. Maybe making a fully proprietary submachine gun integrally suppressed would be something I’d love to open my wallet for. Whatever you make, make sure its expensive and nice. There are enough cheap products out there to yawn at.

  48. Aussie says:

Anything as long as its available down under.

  49. Daniel L. says:

    Less expensive HK (VP9) magazines.

  50. Patrick K says:

I’d like to see a modular plate carrier with lightweight nylon options
