I love the Daka pouches but the wallet is a stretch. No way I can only carry this few of cards and not have a sealed wallet. This looks more like a replacement for a money clip if anything.

Best wallet I’ve used is the Blue Force Gear one. Holds tons and is super thing. I think the same material as the Daka.

You are seriously the biggest downer that comments on this site. I swear I’ve seen you complain about everything.

I don’t know why you’re comparing the BFG and the Magpul wallet as they are vastly different in their goal and design.

They’re not trying to spin this as a wallet that can carry everything. This is a credit card case – please get over yourself and having everything revolve around you.

      • 1c3 says:

God forbid he express his point of view and disrupt the Magpul minions worship session.

        • The Real Alex says:

Thank you 1c3, last time I checked this is an opinion blog and I’m merely posting my opinion. In no way did I put the down the product, I simply offered my comparison to a product I already own.

Should SSD just censor all the comments if it doesn’t go with his advertisers? Then we are just as bad as the liberal media.

Anyone know what bag that is with the luggage tag attached?

  3. JP says:

Seems strange that they went through all that trouble and left out any RFID shielding.

    • PNWTO says:

RFID shielding is more or less a gimmick on wallet-sized items.

      • Bryan says:

Can you expound on that? I’m rather ignorant about RFID but the Army gave me a little RFID shielding sleeve when I got a new CAC so I assumed it served a purpose.

  4. Magpul says:

RFID shielding has a place (such as passport protection), but it is largely unnecessary for credit cards as most use NFC technology (which only works at very short/contact distances). Even then RFID shielding needs to be absent in the ID/Access part wallet, so you can still use ID access cards for building/subway entry without removing the cards from the wallet.?

  5. Iceman says:

I am very glad to hear that it is not hygroscopic (whatever that means)

  6. Big_Juju says:

Neat wallet. What’s next from Magpul’s lifestyle brand? Shoes? Packs?

    • Luke says:

      good design is good design.

we can only hope they grace more product categories with their presence.

      • N8 says:

Agreed. These new lifestyle products are simple, functional, clean looking, with solid price points. I’ve been using their phone cases for years, because I can’t find anything that I like better at any price, let alone under $15.

      • Big_Juju says:

Acknowledged. Just curious when/if they’ll hit brand dilution. I think Glock tried lifestyle products. I’ve seen Smith + Wesson put their name on everything. If I were still in business school I’d write a paper on this …

        • Luke says:

Glock and S&W are both great examples of the worst possible way to do it, so far Magpul has probably dodged every major pitfall I can think of, probably the biggest difference is magpul is actually designing the stuff rather then just throwing a logo on any piece of crap that it will fit on.

          • Bill says:

Second that – crappy S&W knife-shaped objects, golf towels, shot glasses…

          • Big_Juju says:

I wonder if Magpul has considered distributing their clothing line thru REI and other traditional outdoor clothing retailers and how well that’d work out vs the tactical clothing/gear retailers? Would their be push back from main-stream customers in those retail distribution chains?

Man! Guess I will write that paper …

            • elliot says:

Seeing Magpul at REI would put a massive shit-eating grin on my face. They should give it a try.

              • Airborne_fister says:

What about a Cabela’s or gander mtn?

              • Magpul says:

Getting into a place like REI is more on REI than Magpul. They have to move or reduce something they are already selling to sell anything new. If you want to see them in places like REI, write the corporate offices and tell them.

  7. Marcus T says:

The wallet is innovative and useful for the purpose Magpul stated.

I’m glad to see they are not only trying to produce new products, but actually delivering them into the market quickly.

    Continued success to them.

    • Scott Clark says:

It may come to market quickly (with shipping & handling) but it takes forever to bring it to shelf at a local retailer.

  8. Bill says:

I got beached for light-duty with our court security unit, and the Costanza wallet is epidemic. Guys come through routinely with wallets bigger than bowling ball bags.
