December 16, 2016: The ETS Group is proud to announce the release of their new line of .40 cal Glock® clear polymer magazines. Included in this release are the GLK-22-140 (19 Rounds) and GLK-22-170 (24 Rounds) competition legal models. Competitive shooters can now reduce the amount of mag changes and easily identify ammo type quickly when competing. Happy to see they’re expanding their offerings. I’m awaiting 30(ish) round 45 ACP magazines from them.
Has anyone else noticed that the ETS AR mags stagger opposite to conventional USGI mags? Looking from the rear of the mag (primers facing you), even numbered rounds are on the left hand side. The two ETS w/ the coupling feature are like this. I just thought it was weird.
“Competitive shooters can now reduce the amount of mag changes”
I am missing something? Wouldn’t the shooter have to drop the mag, look at it, and decide whether or not to reload? That’s not faster than just reloading.
…what?
Literally nobody drops a mag, looks at it, and then decides what to do.
They aren’t saying that the ability to rapidly assess ammo remaining in the mag will enable fewer mag changes, but that the increased capacity over factory-standard mags will enable fewer changes.
A: You can quickly and easily check the round count without playing double take games with the tiny factory mag witness holes. I shoot production and this is a big deal.
B: As others have said, they’re talking about the joy of high capacity extendos, not the translucent plastic.
Also worth noting is that while ETS mags may have spring stacking issues at times, they are warm-butter-on-cold-glass smooth for lightning reloads while gaming.
Cheap, reliable and smooth. Save the factory mags for work / carry.
