At the very start of their bolt action program – and even from the earliest days of Magpul precision rifle training – they knew that the ultimate goal was to build the best possible “no limits” rifle chassis in the world. After years of design, prototyping and testing, and guided by Magpul Core and other accomplished shooters from military, law enforcement, and competitive backgrounds, it’s time to show their hand.
The Magpul Pro 700 Rifle Chassis is an uncompromising, full featured precision rifle chassis for short action Remington 700 actions and other Rem 700 footprint actions. The Pro 700 combines innovative engineering, precision machining, MILSPEC quality finishes, and an extensive list of purposeful design features with complete adjustability to provide demanding end users with the most comprehensive available precision rifle platform solution for true out of the box performance.
Based on a full billet aluminum skeleton and clad in Magpul polymer for environmental comfort, noise mitigation, and ergonomics, the Pro 700 is also fully ambidextrous. Capable of fitting both right and left handed actions with the simple swap of a bot-cutout plate, and with a reversible cheek riser and reversible hinge on the folding version, “lefties” haven’t been left out.

Type III hard anodized machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum V-bedding block, body, adjustment knobs and forend with high strength injection molded polymer body covers optimally placed for comfort and aesthetics
• Ambidextrous bedding block can be changed by swapping the QD sling swivel plate and bolt retainer insert for left or right hand actions using a 1/8″ hex wrench
• Folding stock with push-button activated durable cast 4140 steel hinge with Melonite finish is reversible for left or right folding capability with the use of a 5/32″ hex wrench. A fixed stock adapter is available for a non-folding stock solution
• Folding stock is also designed to capture the bolt handle when folded and is compatible with a large variety of aftermarket bolt knobs and handles
• An NVD clip on mounting rail solution is available
• Overall LOP adjustment range is 13.25″ – 15.125″
• Butt pad height can be adjusted up 1.33″ and down .90″ and is adjustable left or right for a total of 5 degrees
• Comb height adjustment has a 1″ range with a secondary locking knob to eliminate movement in the cheek riser
• Cheek riser features a 3-position fore/aft adjustment of +.375″, 0″ and -.375″ which can also be changed for left or right side usage using only a common hex wrench
• Injection molded polymer grip with 5 degree forward edge sweep and enlarged palm swell with 7 degree aft edge sweep for enhanced user comfort combined with a .75″ fore/aft adjustment range using a common hex wrench
• Additional grip option included with a more aggressive sweep and enlarged palm swell for the shooter that is more inclined to a less vertical grip interface (8 degree forward / 20 degree aft edge sweep)
• Durable cast steel rotation limited QD sling swivel mounts with Melonite® finish fits up to 1.5″ push button swivels
• M-LOK® slots for accessory mounting on the forend (left-6/right-6/bottom-7) and the stock (bottom-2)
• Integrated AICS pattern magazine well of reinforced polymer construction optimized for PMAG®5 & PMAG®10 7.62 AC™ magazines as well as most other AICS pattern short action magazines
• Large trigger guard allows for use with gloves and accepts most factory and aftermarket curved or flat triggers

Late to the game with this. nearly every manufacturer is coming out with a complete chassis rifle for around $1000, leaving little room for retrofit of the same price.
I’ll bet street price is a bit lower.
Also, very few of the off-the-shelf rifles are available in Left-Hand. Also, at MSRP it’s still cheaper than most of the chassis out there once you factor in a stock.
It’s not that it’s cheap for a competing chassis.
It’s that there’s no room in the market anymore for a stand alone chassis, not when you can get a sub-MOA chassis rifle like the 700 PCR or BA-10 stealth for the same price. Many of the chassis rifles are going for $900 street.
The days of needing a to do anything to a gun for long range shooting are long gone, killed by modern manufacturing.
As crazy as it sounds, not everyone is racing to the bottom of the market. Though Magpul has made a name for itself with products that happen to be affordable, it doesn’t mean that they can’t access a customer that is willing to spend more for their products.
While not everyone is racing to the bottom everyone does get caught up in the race there.

My humble opinion – It looks very nice. There are a lot of similar options at the 1k price point. The folding stock might be a leg up for Magpul as well as a smooth mag well for efficient mag changes, if they prove to be smooth that is one thing we see as a failure in other chassis. If the price was about $200 less I think they would have a winner but as it stands its in competition with the MPA which in this case, there is no competition there. They have way too many accessories. Also, the lack of ARCA rail compatibility is an issue. M-LOK is a thing of the past in the precision world.
You are 100% correct. The PRS/NRL world is dominated by J Allen and MPA.
MDT makes one too, it comes with a rifle in it for 1000. Good try Magpul but you missed the mark, by about $300.
Nice try Magpul but XLR and a few other have you beat in a number of features.
Weight, ARCA plate grooves, etc.
Sell it for $500- $600 and you may get marketshare.
Otherwise, as mentioned, you’re late to the game.
Wow, Magpul had a chance to take a share of the market here… I’ll echo the comments above. Folder capturing the bolt handle may be a perk for some but the lack of ARCA which is becoming the standard makes this DOA.
Looks nice but KRG, MDT and XLR appear to be more refined and at a slightly lower price point. The new KRG Bravo is hard to beat for a chassis. J Allen, XLR and MPA pretty much have the NRL/PRS world covered.
Echoing everyone else- there are plenty of folding $1k chassises (SP?) Unless Magpul is able swing their name and get it OEM like they have done so well with their handguards, grips and stocks I can’t imagine them selling many of them.
What kind of precision shooter is that?!?!?!
The guy clearly doesn’t know how to staple a target properly. That wind must have opened up his group by at least 0.001 MOA! A real precision sniper would have seen his error and restarted everything, including machining his own barrel.
As far as the ARCA plate, there are m-lok compatible plates out on the market already. granted it adds $50 to the cost that should be already included.
The XLR Envy has the ARCA grooves machine into the forend-no plate needed.
That and a useless level embedded in the the stock , aft of the rear lug bog
MPA BA Chassis also has ARCA cuts machined into the chassis.
Hell, look how long it took MAGPUL to release their updated UBR stock. Then it was a lesser product than the original UBR.
Competition is good, but difficult to contend with. MAGPUL is a good company, but a day late and a dollar short on this item.
