“never turn our back on the NRA”

So does that mean that they’ve got a discount deal that makes the NRA happy? Best not drop or even change that deal, Cordova!

Sucks a little being Yeti right now I would imagine, but only a little. I doubt the truth will ever come out to anyone’s satisfaction. Most likely Yeti mismanaged the relationship and its communication with the NRA over what was probably just a reasonable business decision. The NRA in turn, in its current hypersensitive, borderline neurotic mental state, went spastic in a manner that prevents them from quickly (or ever) recanting, assuming it can allow itself to admit it was wrong – although I did read they issued a statement urging Yeti owners to put a pro-NRA sticker on their coolers vice blowing them up, so…that’s good.

As for the folks who did blow up their very expensive Yetis, there’s no way out for them. Yeti could starting handing out free ARs to twelve year olds, but once the NRA says you’re Satan, Satan you will remain.

On a lighter note, those Cordova’s do look like awesome coolers. Chris Janson needs to change his song!

    • SSD says:

Tom, since you’re not a member of the NRA, nor a friend of the 2A, chill.

      • TominVA says:

I’m chill. It’s who I am. It’s what I do best. True I’m not a member of the NRA (almost was, but didn’t thank goodness), but I do own firearms. I support the 2A within reasonable limits.

But come on. You don’t think the NRA went off its meds on this one?

Upon reflection, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that their recent caveat on the cooler imbroglio is the result of an internal review concluding they could be sued for libel, i.e. they misrepresented Yeti’s actions and intent.

        • SSD says:

Actually, they didn’t misrepresent anything. You read a Yeti statement and believe everything they said. You’ll notice they haven’t thrown the “libel” word around. If you actually paid attention, Yeti released two statements and changed their wording once they realized how bad they stepped on their crank.

          • TominVA says:

Do you have a link to or text of the original Yeti statement? The only Yeti text I can find is on their website and the NRA posted what appears to be the same statement.

It would be nice if the NRA could post the original notice they received from Yeti.

Still, it seems pretty clear Yeti didn’t think this one through.

        • rnw says:

Isn’t it interesting how many leftist have suddenly and conviently discover that they own firearms?

And that whole “I support the 2nd Amendment within reasonable limits”?

But they never tell you what these reasonable limits are?

          • TominVA says:

So no sensible firearms owner could possibly be in disagreement with the NRA? Wayne said it, you believe it, that settles it?

I’ll tell you what the reasonable limits (as of today) are, if you really want to know.

Wait a minute…you callin’ me a communist, Leroy?
