Buck Knives Introduces Automatic Versions of the Iconic 112 Ranger

Post Falls, ID — Wednesday, September 19, 2018– The classic 112 Ranger has been transformed into an exciting automatic knife.  The 112 Auto and 112 Auto Elite are powerfully deployed with the push of a button, instantly readying the blade.

The two 112’s recently debuted at the Outdoor Retailer Show are now available. These versions include a modern twist to the classic utilizing the same Macassar Ebony handles and 420HC steel blade, as well as a black G10 handled version with upgraded S30V steel.

Weighing only slightly less than the original, the 112 Auto is only 5.6 ounces. Includes a genuine leather sheath. Made in the USA. MSRP: $175

The 112 Auto Elite appeals to customers interested in the American classic with an innovative design and upgraded materials. The 112 Auto Elite weighs only 6.1 ounces and features a G10 handle with brushed nickel silver bolsters and 3-inch clip point blade. Includes a genuine leather sheath for safe carry.  Made in the USA. MSRP: $225

Eric, you have a chance to handle this one yet? I see there is no lockout button and the release button does not seem recessed that much…AD pocket opening worry?

It just came out. I haven’t seen one in person yet, but hope to at Blade Show West in early October.

Saw these at ORSM. Very nice knives – great evolution of a classic. Buck did recommend sheath carry when we checked them out.

I’ve seen 110s modified to Automatic. The 110 is, in my opinion, one of the best values anywhere for a made in USA knife, followed by Kershaw, ZT, Benchmade. I can see owning one of these, for sure, I love Buck, thanks for sharing this!

This totally reminds me of Puma folders. It also reminds me of the Browning Folder Dad carried everywhere in the ’70s & ’80s when I was a kid, (when everyone else was carrying Buck 110s) so nostalgia’s strong with this one..
